They would both be big improvements on Chalobah in my opinion. Although I am really struggling to believe that the Fox's would actually be interested in Nate considering he has been a weak link in our championship midfield for the majority of this season and they have one of the best squads in the country.
Not sure any of them have enough experience to be ‘big’ improvements personally - the bigger concern though for me, is that for all this merry-go-round in midfield (Capoue, Garner, Gosling, Choudhury, S Longstaff, M Longstaff, Chalobah...), none of it actually addresses the issue we went into the window with - a lack of creativity in CM and finding a player who plays in the lines between midfield and attack. All these names just seem like-for-like positionally and don’t add the traits we need. And it’s arguable that none of them come close to replacing the traits we are losing in Capoue either.
None of them do come close to what Capoue offers. But I think they are better than Chalobah. In my opinion Chalobah has not been very good at all this season, he slows everything down he lacks energy and he cannot pass.
Yeah and then just post **** like I do to wind other watford fans up. The GOG’s on twitter are out in force today. It’s been a joy watching them crumble.
It’s been a pleasure today and yesterday. On a different note. Newcastle are trying to sign Idrissa Gueye from PSG on loan. PSG has said yes, player waiting to see what happens. If they get him, then hopefully that’s means one of the longstaff’s are coming here.
Relegation Certs going to have a field day with the handsome brothers from up north wearing their trackies.
Wasn’t Sean Longstaff being linked with a move to United at stages last season? Seemed wild at the time and he’s clearly gone way of the radar.... EDIT: Newcastle apparently valued him at £50m! https://bleacherreport.com/articles...tracted-by-manchester-united-transfer-rumours
https://twitter.com/milesstarforth/status/1356171979636801537 Matty Longstaff loan not happening apparently
They'd rather keep him up there not playing than risk him being permanently scarred by spending any time at our club. Shame as this did seem like a reasonable punt. Promising young player not getting any game time at a struggling club that are actively looking to get more players in for his position.
Classic Watford. Approach a club who have been very local about needing more CM’s, enquiring after a couple of their CM’s...I imagine we are quite shocked that not every club takes the same approach to the window as us.
