A fact conveniently not mentioned by those claiming the club has had to deal with severe financial hardship despite selling half the squad.
Yep, I guess we had to offer a contract of this length to get the deal done. Not ideal considering his age.
Yeah makes sense. If we only offered 1.5 guess he’d wait to be free agent in the summer and see what was on the table elsewhere.
"We'll be running through the ginnels with our willy's hanging out, singing 'I've got a bigger one than you! I've got a bigger one than you!..."
The tears from the Bmuff fans is worth it. I said it yesterday, if he’s Garner’s replacement and we sign someone else, then it’s decent business. If Gosling is our Capoue replacement then it’s terrible. Gino has less than 48 hrs to sign Jephcott and Mowatt.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46831027 Reminder of the time Deeney accused Gosling of trying to break Cleverley's leg.
I don’t hate this Always seemed a decent player for muff. Our midfield needs at least some experienced backup. Coming to the end of his career but probably will get a season or more out of him. think he can do that job upper champ lower prem we aren’t in a financial position having been relegated, in January, with expensive wages sitting on our books to get sign Doucoure level replacements that’ll come next year
I'm gonna take this as a sure sign Deeney is off. Opening up the door to sign players he would have a conflict with.
Muff fans very unhappy that he’s been allowed to leave ..... they sound as disillusioned with their club as we are ours
On a 2.5 year deal this is alright as a squad option tbh. I'd still like for us to sign a proper CM upgrade and a CF though of course.
Could be this seasons Ben Watson type signing . He wasn’t pulling up any trees at Wigan when we signed him but was brilliant for us in the promotion season. However , the difference is literally he was the missing piece in midfield that season. This season We’re not playing cohesively so we need more than just a hard working midfielder I feel. Nevertheless may prove to be a decent signing.
FTRE head honcho ‘Rookery Mike’ now passive aggressively suggesting that anyone who thinks this is a poor signing bases their knowledge on football manager and YouTube The arrogance and misplaced self assuredness of some of our clappers is breathtaking. This thinly veiled attitude that constantly running cover for and cosying up to Pozzos, Duzbury, Leventhal etc. somehow makes you a more informed or mature fan is hilarious They love to roll out the cliche “we were nearly bust before Gino” whenever he makes his latest blunder, yet ironically I reckon this same bunch were probably applauding Bas for securing the happy egg sponsorship and urging the fans to get behind Craig Beattie
Similar to most of the Pozzo transfers in recent years, minimum outlay, experienced & in need of a club. Not greatly different to Murray, Watson, Abdi, Cassetti, Munari, Tozser, Geijo, Pudil, Fitz Hall etc. Not marquee or overly exciting, but will do a good honest reliable job for us
A lot of his focus seems to be on Duxbury's quoted comments about doing what's necessary to be promoted and its use as evidence that what's happened isn't the case. The teat sucklers seem to be leading the charge on this and saying that these comments should be disregarded because we have Ismalia Sarr or despite the fact they were stated mid-pandemic, that the pandemic somehow makes them irrelevant. There's even a suggestion that it was just a lie to keep everyone happy. But, like with Mike, when keeping the hierarchy happy and your access to it keeps the money coming in, you'll not even have to be asked to defend it.
I don’t even watch it. I tried my best with my limited knowledge... A Curly Watts type character maybe? Better?
A portmanteau actress?! Carlos Vanarama or whatever he was called keeps coming to mind but then I'm half frozen from the BGBW!
I think Bournemouth fans seem to have the same issues as us, plenty of good players on on paper on premier league wages who's names look impressive to the outside eye but in truth they are not playing well either because they are passed it or want moves back to the premier league.
Gosling's stats have been decent this season. In sum they are better than Hughes' in pretty much every way, and similar, or even marginally better overall, than Chalobah's and Cleverley's. Tackles + interceptions: 4 combined per 90 (2.6 tackles + 1.4 interceptions). Compared with: Chalobah - 4.5 (2.4 + 2.1) Cleverley - 3.3 (2.3 + 1) Hughes - 3.2 (2.7 + 0.5) Goals He also has a goal every 384 minutes (2 in total) Cleverley has a goal every 426 minutes and none of our other CMs have scored yet. Key passes Not too bad either at 0.6 per 90. Cleverley - 0.8 Hughes - 0.5 Chalobah - 0.3 Assists 1 assist (in 767 minutes) None of our other CMs have any assists so far this season (no doubt not helped by our crap strikers though) Dribbles Gosling - 1.1 per 90 Hughes - 0.8 Chalobah - 0.8 Cleverley - 0.3
I actually think Gosling will do fine for us this season. That said I understand why people would be underwhelmed. And I’m also confident that this Rookery Mike chap is a tool of the highest order.
Interestingly almost every Watford fan on social media and Watford supporting friends and family think Gosing is a bad signing and that he's useless. However, Bournemouth fans who I assume have actually watched him play far more than Watford fans say he is alright. https://bournemouth-forum.vitalfootball.co.uk/threads/dan-gosling.1552/page-38
What number has he been allocated? Can’t wait to be the only one with his name on the back 30% off shirts too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Not sure who people think we should be signing given the current situation but, to me, Gosling is a decent addition to the squad and a sensible piece of business.
That's alright. We now have two Tom Cleverlys. We just alternate which does the first 60 mins of each match. It frees a more mercurial talent from having to cover for Clevsgos for the third of a match when the oldster's legs have gone. Sent from my ONEPLUS A5010 using Tapatalk
