True. A few decent games for Hungbo or Dalby would automatically result in a healthy profit too.

Offer him out for free and get him off the wage bill.

Atrocious signing, whoever was responsible for signing him at the club should also be sacked.

Has anyone suggested starting a GoFundMe page yet? I don't want to give him any of my money ideally but the fans and club could unite to pay him off and get the useless **** out of here.

He is a complete waste of a shirt. I don't care how much we are paying him, he is doing more damage being in the team. Why compound our financial mistake by also weakening the team?

    No conundrum.

LITERALLY THE WORST SIGNING WE HAVE EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER MADE!!

There is 7,874,965,825 people in the world.

7,874,965,824 agree that Gray is the worst signing we have ever ever ever ever ever made. 1 doesn’t, and he’s on this forum.

How much do you think we could raise on the hypothetical Gofundme page to stop Gray playing for Watford? There has to be an amount before 30million that gets the attention of the press, the club and potentially even Gray himself making the effort potentially worthwhile.

can we say it goes to a charity if he goes rather than to Gray?

Maybe something close to his heart like fighting homophobia

Or spend 10,000 on a non-league striker for the club who we play and inevitably be better than Gray.

    Just do due diligence.

Free Andre Gray! The campaign to save Andre Gray from being forced into masquerading as a Championship striker. Sectioned under "Emergency"/"Charity" this GoFundMe campaign requires all true Watford fans to contribute what they can to rid Andre Gray of his duties as our....*deep breath in* second most expensive player of all time. It's become clear that Andre Gray no longer identifies as a football player and Watford should release him of all due pressures, so that he can finally relinquish the burden of pretending to do what he's paid to do and just marry Leigh-Ann instead.

Andre Grays career took a nose dive in 2016

I think he reached a level of success in his career and in life and then just lost his drive/motivation.

We are stuck with him until his contract expires.

If you want to genuinely get the club thinking, perhaps a campaign to not buy Hive games if he's playing. i.e. wait til team announced, if Gray starts don't buy it. That would probably cost the club £10ks per match.

I don't necessarily agree with this, but as someone who works in a football club i'm surprised this kind of thing doesn't happen more often. The people behind the scenes REALLY care about revenue and they almost always have huge egos so these kind of things work.

Yep, it's not Gray's fault if we're playing in the wrong league. Haters back off!

We could organise a lockdown-breaking illegal party, get one of his mates to secretly film it, release that film to the media - bound to get him sacked. If not then maybe try a second time.

I genuinely thought he’d do ok in the championship, but he is just crap, as crap as he’s always looked for us.

It’s an odd one, because in terms of success as far as purely scoring goals are concerned, objectively he managed to do that over at least three seasons.

You get players like Iggy who have a fluke purple patch but it doesn’t last long and certainly not for even a season.

There are a few others that spring to mind from years gone by, Papisse Cise? Shefki Kuqi?

Those are from memory, but from my memory they burst onto the scene and appeared competent at the top level for a very brief period, then fell away dramatically.

Andre somehow seemed to con the world into thinking he was a professional footballer for a lot longer.

Bottom line is a fair few thought Gray and Deeney were potentially gonna **** this league at the beginning of the season. And they have scored 1 goal each as I understand it in open play so far. Gray gets near enough all the headlines/hate for this. But we will be better off with BOTH not being here no more, not just 1.

No conundrum to speak of. :)

About 25 possibly 30 years ago a Swede got the job at the LTA as head of 16&U girls.
His CV was impressive. He had trained Edberg and other top players.
It transpired that he had hit on the next court to Edberg and had fabricated his CV around this.
The LTA did not bother to check and paid him a 6 figure salary.
    He lasted 6 months.
Gray is the footballing equivalent it seems.

Rewatching Joao's wonderful goal from the Muff game last night, it made me think -

    Screenshot 2021-01-30 at 14.39.25.png

After the control, and the silky skills that sent two defenders for an ice cream a la Iggy, this is the position that Joao earned himself, and from which he coolly dispatched the cake-icing third goal.

If it were Andre in that exact position, body-swapped for Joao and in all other ways remaining entirely the same, how confident would you be that his shot would hit the target?

We should just cut our losses on him now. He's dead wood that needs to be cleared to make way for green shoots.

There's no excuse for playing him any more. The only thing he's ever been good at is getting on the end of things and finishing. He makes no other contribution except occupying a defender with his movement. All the other outfield players have to work harder when he's selected whether he's scoring or not. We can't afford for him to keep a better all-round footballer out of the side in the hope that he somehow finds his mojo in front of goal again.

He's done at this level. Write the money off and send him on his way. It's for the best.
