The striker we all wanted! “He's a really good size at 6ft 3in and is good in the air. He needs work, like all young players do, but he could be a really good prospect for this club.” We can confirm the signing of exciting 18-year-old forward Tiago Cukur, who joins our Academy after leaving @AZAlkmaar https://www.watfordfc.com/news/official-hornets-sign-tiago .
We have more than our fair share of players with mentality issues already, and then we go and sign a Cuk?
I like the quote from Omer Riza “He can make a pass with his head, like Troy Deeney does, and you can count on him to finish, like....hmmmm. He needs work, like all young players do, but he could be a really good prospect for this club.” Ok, I made a small edit, but I'm sure he was thinking that when he said it.
@The Recluse bounced the club into admitting this signing with his sterling detective work! Nice to see that Deeney even gets editorial say over the press releases of youth player signings these days... "He can make a pass with his head, like Troy Deeney does..."
I really, really hope that all this propaganda coming out the club lately about our strikers is a desperate ploy to try and tempt West Brom in to signing them while the Jan window is still open.
Good plan. "Cukur, much like Troy Deeney, is on very affordable wages, and is equally comfortable living in the South of England, or the Midlands.
The proven route to developing a well rounded professional player and fulfilling their potential. Genuinely he will never play for us. Will either make it abroad and be sold, or fade away into the Euro lower leagues. He is purely a financial investment.
As much as I'd like to claim influence over Watford's transfer announcements, I'm not sure my flapping about on here & twitter had too much to do with it. It was @LF2423 who gave me the name Thiago [sic] before @DrewH actually named the player so all credit lays at the feet of both LF and Drew. The only real claim I can have is someone from the clubs academy told me it was Cukur after Drew had named him.
He'll fill Berghuis's shoes perfectly. Back to the Netherlands in 18 months to piece his career back together with a mid-table Eredivisie team.
Not sure why people are scoffing at the Deeney comparisons, im very confident that he’ll match Troy’s number of non-penalty goals between now and the end of the season Hopefully then next season he might even be ready to make his debut for us
Bet he can’t wait to join a team in the polish 2nd division on a 2 year loan. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So first you sign Zinckernagel from my favorite club Bodo Glimt and now Cukur from my other Favorite club AZ . BTW You should have bought another player from us: Teun Koopmeiners Watch the replay of the second goal he scored yesterday
Watford FC are delighted to announce the signing of highly rated Do you think he can handle the pressure (Cukur)?
