You talking about the same 'clowns' that started in a 4-4-2 that beat Norwich at home? A bit of optimism wouldn't be the worst idea
Formation is irrelevant it is the mindset that dictates things. Sit back and see what happens. Or Look forward and move to make something happen. We have seen too much of the former this season, let's home our new plan is mostly the latter.
They both have contributed for us in the Premier League, in different circumstances. And both players have faults, not just one. I don't think either of them are as good as they once were, club legend or no club legend. For the time being, whilst they are playing and until we see some upgraded CFs, I would like to see some goals between them, that would be nice.
And the same pointless clowns that started the Swansea match. I will be optimistic if they don't start..
Not sure that's the case as I've seen two in my lifetime so it may happen again although I think we will need a richer owner than we have to stay up for 5 years or more
I'm actually quite surprised Murray has been completely ostracized from the Watford team. It looks as though no one wants to take over our loan deal, so surely we should include him in the matchday squad. You get 9 players on the bench, so there's no reason not to include him. It's all rather strange both Ivic and now Munoz have completely ignored him. Sure, he looked well short when we saw him at the beginning of the season, but coming off the bench in the last 10 minutes or so would make sense to me. He nearly won us the game at Wycombe when we used him this way, then he never played again. There must be more to this story then we're aware of.
They've signed Sobra Thomas! We're doomed! He looked very impressive vs Barnet (so much so I was going to suggest we have a look at him), less so against Millwall.
Depends on age of course. Last time was 35 years ago. I doubt I will be here in another 35. There's no reason to believe we will get a richer owner than we have now, our peers may also get richer owners.
I must admit I've only see Dalby play once live, against Tranmere in the cup and he looked out of his depth even against League One opposition. How nice it would be to have solutions coming from our youth teams, but it doesn't seem to be the case.
Ryan Cassidy was probably the best youth team striker but he is on the bench at Accrington each week.
I don't think there is. He's well past it, can hardly run and can't score but he's never going to get in the team ahead of the best friends forever anyway. Other teams probably notice this and don't want to pay his full wages as we've no doubt done. Who knows, he could pop up in the last minute of the Play Off final to grab a consolation or something. Might be one of those signings.
Not been following him religiously, I don't know, maybe he's played well for them, but he's very much a bit part player for them and is yet to score from open play for them in the league (got 2 goals in the Papa John's Trophy against Leeds' kids, but in the league he's just racked up a penalty and then tapping in the rebound after he missed another one)
Only Dan Phillips comes close to being a 'solution' from the youth system, and he's only really someone to bring on late in a game to give the first teamers a rest. I like him though, maybe he'll play a prominent role for us in the next year or two
I wonder if it's a case of him simply being shot to bits, or whether he's not getting in the team, so therefore he's not putting in the hard yards in training, Ivic seemed to suggest he wasn't fit enough
True - clubs bigger than us were linked to him but maybe as usual more for that hype rather than reality ?
Surely the fact that no other team is interested in taking Murray merely proves that they are capable of doing the due diligence that we so clearly are not? At some point, you get to the bottom of the 'stupid decision' totem pole and there's no one beneath you to piss down on; in this case it looks like we're just being forced to recognise that we are that bottom.
Similarly nobody will touch our “stars” on their big or long contracts. Pozzo’s numerous incompetent decisions are all piled up now and he has nowhere to manoeuvre. Completely out of options except hope the duffers somehow come good under the puppet fist pumping budget manager. What an utter shambles.
No one could have seen this coming as we awarded new contract after new contract, year after year, as a reward for average to poor performances and perpetual absence through injury, though, of course.
One of my favourites was 31 year old Daryl Janmaat getting a new 2 year contract despite not being seen for months. Then being released 8 months later.
Think he is more of a winger than out and out striker . But he probably could play up front and be a big improvement.
We all know the team already. Foster; Kiko, Sierralta, Wilmot, Ngakia; Sarr, Chalobah, Cleverley, Sema; Deeney, Gray. Masina and Hughes not ready to start despite starting last weekend. Zinckernagel rewarded with 5 minutes off the bench after his promising debut. Best strikers in the league to start again because why wouldn't you?
I fear you might not be far from the truth, but it's quite likely that team would scrape a 1-0 win and to some it would seem nothing is amiss.
No excuses for Watford not to win. Looks like Huddersfield have plenty of absentees for the match. Watford dealt major boost ahead of Huddersfield showdown - HertsLive (hertfordshiremercury.co.uk)
Trouble is they did last time and Swansea 2 weeks ago . Not giving them a 2 goals lead might be a good start !
Optimism is a pointless irrelevance when the manager decides he must play himself and his mate upfront. Puffing like an old carthorse straining at an almighty load while the other has the skill level of a pub player. Great grounds for optimism.
