The body language of the front two was so bad today Lack of energy ,moaning and groaning about any misplaced pass to them, no closing down there back three just trotting around up front with no quality Can’t be nice for the younger and new players being subjected to that by the club captain and a senior player I know cleverly is limited but at least they are putting in a shift and trying to lead by example We looked ok and went 1-0 up and then just went into a complete shell, too deep standing off letting them dictate .it was only Swansea and we just allowed them to dictate by dropping so deep.we could all see it happening but nothing was done to change it .Drop deeper to protect the lead with ten minutes left but not an hour to go.madness not sure where we go from here as a team and club we are such a mess Hope the new guy can play 10 I think we badly need someone who can play between the lines buzz around linking up play and travel with the ball through the middle of the park and tuck in when we don’t have the ball.if we continue with 442 one of the two needs to be an out and out 10 in my opinion not two nines So Depressing
Ivic dared to go up against Deeney and was fired for it. Nothing is going to change whilst he is at the club.
Just write the season off and have no expectations and you’ll enjoy it a lot more, that’s what I’ve done now.
If you thought the players were down after that shambles of a loss, think again. Time for cards and gambling on the team bus on the way home.
Tempting, but I can't shake the looming dread of what happens if we don't somehow manage to steal a promotion spot - our finances really do appear to be quite ****ed as it is, and at least partly reliant on the gamble of an immediate return.
Let's make Deeney the manager. Gets rid of the problem. Gets rid of Deeney when the Pozzo's sack him in three months time.
Just seen the goals . Let them cross too easily and goodness know what Foster was doing for that 2nd! In no-mans land .
I fully agree, we’re ****ed if we don’t go up but that’s why we should just try and enjoy this season for what it is, our last season with (in theory) some half decent players.
I mean, let's be totally realistic; he's held far more than two, they are just the ones the national media managed to find documentary evidence of.
Got to agree that the body language of the front two stunk tonight. I'm kind of used to it from Deeney by now. But Gray usually, in fairness, works his balls off. He's just not very good. If he's now starting to sulk on top of that, then he truly does offer nothing.
Probably get a pasting from a few but thought we looked ok for the first half an hour and for about 10 minutes in the second half, rest of the time they just overran us in midfield, was crying out for Hughes in replace of the inept excuse for a footballer up top. The fact Xisco didn’t change anything apart from a couple of likes for likes is rather concerning. While Deeney and inept excuse for a footballer are at the club and playing (inexplicably) nothing will change, if you’re gonna have the youngsters on the bench chuck one of them on for 25 minutes and see what they can do. Swansea are a solid team so not too disheartened by the result but the resort to Ivic-ball is alarming and much more disheartening. We should do literally anything to get IEFAF out the club, we should’ve sacked him for his absolutely shocking lack of professionalism and disrespect for the club and community the first time he broke the rules, for him to do it again is shocking, get rid anyway possible. With regards to Deeney, if West Brom continue to rival Sheffield United for awfulness they might offer us a few million for him and we must accept. The man has done wonders for this club and he will go down as a legend but has massively regressed lately and we will not improve with him there.
That reminds me of this absolutely sick song, with a rather surprising celeb cameo. So, for anyone who is so inclined, enjoy: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Norwich: Pukki, Buendia, Vrancic, Hugill & Cantwell. 23 goals, 10 assists. Brentford: Toney, DaSilva, Mbeumo & Canos. 25 goals, 15 assists. Bournemouth: Solanke, Stanislas, Groer & Brooks. 24 goals, 12 assists. Swansea: Ayew, Lowe, Roberts & Bidwell. 19 goals, 10 assists. Watford: Pedro, Sarr, Deeney & Cleverley. 16 goals, 4 assists. Zero assists for Cleverley, zero goals and assists for Capoue & zero for Chalobah, zero goals for Garner. Zero assists for Pedro, zero goals for Sema. It's just pathetic going forward, Look how prolific our rivals are across FOUR players. You could add Sema and Femenia to our total to bring it to 12 assists but neither of them have scored. Sarr is the only player to appear in the top 3 for us for goals and assists. We desperately lack quality and if I can figure that out from watching us, watching our rivals, and going on WhoScored for a bit of data then Gino must be able to see it. You could add Gray to our total to give us five players and we'd still only have 17 goals, 5 assists. Add Sema, 17 goals 9 assists, add Femenia, 17 goals, 13 assists. It's just not good enough to get promoted.
To be fair, are they going to cry about it? Why would they? Capoue wanted to leave, Foster says "oh well that's football", Femenia wanted to leave, Hughes doesn't want to play because we blocked his move to West Ham, Deeney is probably masturbating over a picture of himself, Gray is probably on the phone to his girlfriend, Sarr is begging Mane to beg Klopp to put a bid in. The only person probably a bit affected by the result is Cleverley.
We are losing touch with the clubs above us. Norwich seem to be on course for a return to the Premier league. Bournemouth would be my next bet for second place. The play offs would stretching it for us. It appears to be that the players are just not interested no matter who is the manager. I think Gino would rather sell players in the January transfer window than buy.
No reason to sulk, they are finally playing as a two as they've quite publicly made clear is what they want and they've showed no reason why thus far.
Pretty sure Pozzo is forced to sell players in January such is the state of his mismanagement. Next accounts out soon........
Forward players cost money, but we’ve made some extraordinarily poor choices in the signings we’ve made. To think we’ve been in the Premier league for 5 years, yet our central strikers have scored just 3 goals between them this season. There’s really no excuse for this. Look at the quality Brentford have going forward. Even Blackburn have forward players that would walk into our team. None of these teams have been in the Premier League yet still out score us. We’ve scored just 25 goals in 22 games. It’s expecting too much for Zinckernagel to be the magic wand. He should help us, but so many of our midfield and forward players have regressed over the years and it’s now pulling us down.
6 points off second with a game in hand. More favourable fixtures coming up. Play like we did against Norwich and we'll be competing for top 2. Play like we did against Swansea and we'll likely still be competing for play-offs, that's how crap this league is.
