He's said "at this moment" at least once. A tiny tweak on the Pozzo model, which shows that lessons have been learnt.
Well I for one am willing to give him a chance to see what he can bring to the table and not to pass judgement before the team has kicked a ball under his (and Deeney's) 'leadership'.
He can't be any worse than Ivic. We may even work the opposition goalkeeper who have been almost passengers recently. We may even start passing the ball forward rather than endlessly backwards and sideways across our back 3/4. We may start attacking at pace and continue running at the defence or getting to the goal line and producing a cross or fashion a shooting chance rather than stopping and then passing the ball all the way back to Foster. Things may not go to plan and we might get a significant tactical change for the better or some substitutions that make sense. We might score 2 goals from open play. Or the wheels might completely fall off and everything turn to sh1te. It will never be worse than the worst home festive fixture ever. Watford 1 - 4 Millwall under Vialli in 2002: The Italian Clown's finest hour (and a half).
FFS two more CB's out, Sierralta, Wilmot starting Bench looks loaded with plenty of MF's though and the one striker most of us would like to see starting?
A good win for Xisco Inferno tonight, but it won't be long before Deeney steams in with the chair if he feels power slipping away.
Has achieved legendary status already in my mind, loved the celebrations at the end and his post match interview, revealed a lot. Maximum points so far, can only see that continuing.
We need to tie the Cisco kid to a long term contract after that, with the incentive of the freedom of Watford if he gets us promoted
Wonder who's going to win the head coach role in a cereal box next week! Joking of course, was great to see all the bench and reserves with big smiles on their faces congratulating him at the end. We were much improved without being anything spectacular, but certainly playing with more freedom again which is exactly what we need to do with the players at our disposal.
4-4-2 tonight. Just one of the Xisco Systems I'm expecting to see. He'll be using the fitness data before his next team selection no doubt. Heard he's a computer whizz, hot on the Xisco-theque.
The team certainly played with more joy which made a difference, but we still need a decent goal scorer if we want promotion IMO.
