    How many/what proportion is ‘lots’?

Nothing concrete yet, as I don't think any official outlet has catalogued exact numbers at this point. The raw data just isn't there yet.

One source was just talking about a single support group for the issue that already has in excess of 12,000 members, though. Many of them are really young, too, and nowhere near their 60s/70s.

Might be of interest as far as general info goes:

Tragic for the people involved. Unfortunately Arakel is a drama queen so will exaggerate the impact in the grander scheme of things and revel in the crisis. I remember his laughable Spanish Flu projections back in Feb.

Do you never tire of this style of debating? Maybe there is a tendency for gloomy forecasts, but conversely this suggests you to be in the same denial as you were in February.

You can accept that Long Covid is a serious problem and still reasonably balance this with concerns about the effect of continued lockdowns. But don’t shoot the messenger and all that.

Wow Tut, that is so bad I actually gave you a ‘like’.

I thought my sad life was pointless, tedious and meaningless but you’ve actually cheered me up - it’s not so bad after all!

Cheers, and give Ethel a hug for me, at least she makes an effort at Xmas :D
    Love,

I can. Old Tory grandees exerting pressure. Bojo floats with the wind. What the scientists have said is generally irrelevant to him. Still huge numbers of morons wandering about without any regard for the rules. A few people have commentated on the decline in empathy in society towards a narcissistic society. Given what has happened over the last few months it is quite believable.

    Thanks for this.
Dentalux 6 in 1 Total Care from Lidl has it and is under £1.

My missus (who knows everything about everything), has been advocating a mix of Tea Tree Oil in water (10 drops in one of those little 10ml? bottles you take on planes) to gargle daily and especially after meeting non bubble people. Been using it since May in addition to mouth wash gargle.
Anti virul, anti fungal and anti bacterial. Magic stuff and cheap.

Disagree. There aren’t “huge” numbers of people disregarding the rules in my view. Everywhere I go respects social distancing and wears masks where appropriate. I’ve only come across one anti masker oddball in 6 months.

Don’t disagree with your point on balance. What I find disagreeable is the need to dramatise and exaggerate. It’s a constant theme from this poster. Honestly can’t stand him so guess I should use “ignore” as he does to me!

Promising news about the Oxford vaccine:

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-55040635

70% effective in the trial but when they reduced it from 2 doses to 1.5 it jumps to 90% effective. It's also cheap and can be stored in a normal fridge.

This will massively increase production cost as you will have to have two types of 'packaging'.

Hmm chimpanzee DNA and other unknown stuff. I'll take my chances with a virus with a 99.8% survival rate before I trust big pharma to put their poison in my body!

Probably just knows it won't be Christmas as his mate Hancock suggested the other day getting everyone all excited.

Probably be somewhere in the middle.

He went to college with Fauci, who is the daughter of mother Teresa. They set up orphanages to harvest adrenochrone. That's what this is all about. The mainstream media and internet are all about to go down.

It’s a very tricky one this. I can understand why the Government(s) are keen to relieve the dreadful isolation for people, but it seems likely some people will die because of this who may not have. We saw with students returning the effect of sending people across the Country in tens of thousands. Xmas at other people’s homes means lots movement, lots of opportunities to spread the virus.

As a vaccine seems so close it does seem as if this is an unnecessary move. The Governments could declare an extra holiday or two at a point where they feel there will have been sufficient roll out. A second ‘Xmas’ during March (Lockdownendmass) could actually put a rocket under the economy, though there would also be costs. It would be weird, but none of this is normal.

The danger is that people will think the government are encouraging mixing at Xmas, and will take advantage. They are the same people, I expect, that believe that if the rules say the speeding limit is 30 mph in a built up area then the government are encouraging everyone to drive at that speed, all the time, regardless of whtehr it is safe to do so.

I would have been perfectly OK with staying in our support bubbles over Christmas. We will do that over Christmas and I hope the vast majority do the same.
