Their goal against Norwich was entirely due to the CB and GK failing to communicate who would clear the ball and Kashket just wandered past the defender and poked it in. Comical. Always a danger from set pieces but virtually nothing else. It's a shame Deeney can't play as against Matt Bloomfield it would be a battle of the EFL columnists.
Gray and Hughes in the squad for tomorrow. Think Gray will be on the bench with Perica injured but Hughes maybe given more time.
Have they got a John Lewis when we haven't? How posh must they be? - I'm coming over all Luton envy. Still, it's two games in a row against plucky underdogs so I'm going for a well-deserved 1-0 win like on Saturday.
From the pre match press conference, I'd expect us to pick the biggest team we have through the middle as Ivic highlighted their direct nature. Cleverley out for Capoue. Garner is an absolute fanny in the air but taller than Quina so might keep his place.
Love that Vlad was talking about how we need to adjust to there being no Wah in the Championship. Took a while to realise he was saying VAR.
Wycombe 0 - 5 Watford Tough night for the hosts, blown away by our vastly superior players. Capoue to barely break a sweat and record more than 4 nutmegs.
If we lose this it’s because we’re idiots, not because Wycombe have lost 7 in a row. Having lost 7 in a row doesn’t make them any more or mess likely for them to win against us. They’ve lost 7 because they’re ****, they won’t suddenly win because of some made up quirk of probability.
Yes seen this, someone correct me if I am wrong but I think they have only scored 2 this season. As you say their goal against Norwich was due to calamitous defending and there other goal was when the Milwall goalkeeper tried to take it round the Wycombe striker and got tackled six yards from his own goal. Here are the two goals they have scored this season.
I came upon a Child of God He was walking along the road And I asked him, where are you going And this he told me I'm going on down to Vicarage Road I'm going to see the mighty 'orns I'm going to camp out on the land Or at least on the allotments We are Watford We are golden And we've got to get ourselves Back to the Premier League or Gino will pull the plug.
This is vastly more likely than the bizarre consensus that we are going to lose for some reason. Watford fans eh.
Probably still got a bad knee. Operation didn't work the first time so why be certain it will this time? I mean Chalobah still has trouble I reckon with his and our record with knee injuries isn't great. Look at Janmaat - one minute it was he will be out for a week or so then it was months. GD probably only got fit as soon as he did as the rehab was done away from the club! I mean should it take from early August till now to recover from a hamstring injury? ( Gray) Not like he has a history of such injuries.
Depends on the grade of the hamstring injury. My former physio, the late, great Peggy Pearman said football physios were intent on building up the quadriceps at the expense of the hamstring. This was thirty plus years ago and one would hope matters had improved but...
After a series of hamstring injuries, I over-compensated during the recovery and ended up tearing my hip flexor which is ten times worse. Football playing days over. We joke about "muscle imbalances" but I totally get it!
Fair point. Maybe he had an operation- I mean we probably wouldn’t get told. Just didn’t look too bad when he hobbled off v Spurs unlike TDB’s injury.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson - in fairness, made rather a name for himself in Hollywood in the 10 years since Kick Ass was released, including 'Avengers: Age of Ultron', Tom Ford's 'Nocturnal Animals' and most recently 'Tenet'. Seems like an odd guy, though, for sure.
If we concede 3 goals tonight then heads should roll. Wycombe are a league one team pretending to be a Championship one.As we are not prolific(yet?) it might be tighter than it should be but Vlad has got the guys mentally prepared and we will win. I fancy Quina to score.
Disagree. I think it's far more likely we will lose by a narrow margin than score 5.....and without reply. But maybe your post was a well-disguised whoosh? We've scored 7 goals in 7 games inc ogs. My serious prediction would be 1-1.
Important not to over-rotate here because we see them as weak (ie start Murray and rest Sarr). If we go strong then we should win. If Sarr does have an injury then important Caps starts after getting a couple of sub appearances under his belt.
I agree this is what Zola did for an "easier" game, ultimately that defeat cost us automatic promotion. Ivic doesn't seem the type to do that but I expect some rotation, ie Sarr on the bench.
