Not sure what to think about this one as he has hardly been tearing up trees wherever he has been so far, but lets hope this is about to change and he becomes prolific for us.
Got away with it to a certain extent against L*ton (we were the better team so deserved the win), but my oh my did we miss someone like him today. I've liked what I've seen of him so far, but Jesus, what a stupid boy he's been
Wonder how much he's going to regret that silly red card. Chances are he'd have started the last two games and could've staked a claim to be the main striker this season. By the time he's back he might be third or fourth in the pecking order and we might only be playing with one striker. What an idiotic reaction in a nothing game we'd already lost.
Britos got sent off in a similar game at the start of his WFC career he came good in the end, lets hope Perica is the same!
By the sounds of it, Gray is the preferred option, but I don't think it's set in stone, Perica will get his chances. An extremely dumb decision nonetheless, he might have proved the difference at Reading. Hopefully Gray is fit for Derby or else it might be one of those games again...
At least we had other defensive options when Britos got himself sent off at Preston! Holebas' red card against Bristol City and Britos' attempted murder of our pal Knockaert did indirectly lead to Cathcart being out for ages mind you!
Good finish for the goal but didn’t get much out of the the Bournemouth defence apart from a few knocks and a bad shoulder.
Yes - as shown he can get on the end of good service and move well. Certainly should be first choice target man.
I've been impressed with what I've seen of Perica. He's certainly not a squad filler. He's a useful player. Ivic clearly doesn't rate Murray at all, so we do need to return him to Brighton in January if at all possible. I'm sure he'd be open to it, just to get playing again. He's no use to us or Brighton, so it's far better he moves to a club that will play him. However, Deeney will be ahead of Perica once he is fit. But he should still get plenty of playing time. Once Gray is fit I think Ivic will use his pace as the central striker in a 4-3-3 formation, with Sarr and Pedro either side of him.
I think when all are available it will rotated between Gray, Perica & Deeney, depending on who we are playing, assuming Gray & Deeney come up with the goods.
I was pretty disappointed with him yesterday. Failed to give their defenders any real struggles when dealing with longer balls in the air due to poorly timed jumps, or just failing to position himself in time. On the ball, I’m finding it hard to remember many occasions where he made it stick and managed to bring others into play, or link up with Sarr. Decent movement and finish for the goal, but I didn’t see much out of him that suggests he’s likely to make himself a regular starter.
He's scored 8 goals in his last 651 minutes of league football. A goal every 81 minutes. The boy is on fire!
Agree with most of this, think he looked better in his 30 mins against Sheff Wed, although he was playing against a tougher defence yesterday and we didn't have much possession so he was feeding off scraps for the most part. Agree he struggled to hold the ball up though and didn't win as many headers as you'd expect for a player his size.
Yes, I thought he was disappointing, apart from his anticipation and movement for the goal. Sarr has been making those crosses since he's been here, and Perica is the first to get on the end of one. We should allow him a bit of time to get used to English football, though - this isn't the Jupiler League.
That's a goal a game which is amazing, and as Happy bunny says he is not even used to the British game yet, so who knows he could be absolutely prolific if he manages to continue at his current strike rate.
I actually agree in that after the goal he was ****, but you can't argue with the goal, we've needed someone like that for ages!
Back after the international break according to Ivic. Out for about about 10 more days with the injury he picked up against Muff. Good news.
Our crack medical team are just waiting for the skin graft over the stump where his arm used to be to take, and then he’ll be good to go.
He's ****. The only question is whether he's less **** than Gray and Deeney. Probably. But still ****.
Showed a bit of pace today! He's not amazing or anything, but when he's on the pitch, things happen, so we should definitely be starting him more regularly!
According to the press conference last week (https://www.watfordfc.com/news/team-news-huddersfield-town-1) there's no set date which is worrying considering they've said Success and Kaba will be 2-3 weeks.
Potentially back early next month . https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/19027692.stipe-perica-hoping-back-watford-early-next-month/
This bloke's Watford career was doomed to failure the moment he thought it would be a good idea to elbow a League 2 centre back at the last knockings of a cup tie we'd already lost. In the alternative world, he would've just let the bloke head it away, not get himself banned for three games and been the starting striker in the league as Deeney and Gray were out. A couple of goals or decent performances there and Ivic might've backed him and he'd be the man in possession of the shirt by the time they came back. Now he's on his second or third injury and whenever he is fit he's 3/4th choice striker with no run of decent performances to fall back on. What a wally.
I just wish he'd **** off to be honest. We're crying out for a striker and he lets us down time and again. He's one of those players where there will always be some absurd reason why he can't play. I hate his stupid *****ating grin, too.
