I haven't quite got my head around what Ivic wants from CMs; 2 deeper and one behind the strikers? Doesn't seem quite like that at the moment. Quina would be furthest forward of all our options I'd think.
I see yesterday's formation as very much a horses for courses choice, just one available player who's even half able to play as a striker in JP, we couldn't play 2 up top, but with no right-wingers, we had to play Quina there as a kind of inverted winger. Did OK last night, but not ideal for him, I hope we'll eventually move to a back 4 and a midfield three with him in front of Hughes and Capoue
We currently have 27 senior players, if all were fit what would be your eleven and bench and what system would you play: - Goal Keepers: Foster Bachmann Parkes Defenders: Ngakia Navarro Troost-Ekong Wilmot Masina Cathcart Kabasele Sierralta Femenia Midfielders: Cleverley Chalobah Garner Hughes Quina Capoue Dele-Bashiru Forwards: Deeney Joao Pedro Sema (Officially a forward) Murray Gray Sarr Perica Success
4-2-3-1 Foster; Ngakia, Troost-Ekong, Kabasele, Masina; Capoue, Chalobah; Sarr, Hughes, Pedro; Perica
Based on how he's done so far this season and who we have still to come back, there's no chance Quina makes it in to our first choice team with everyone available.
Like it. Toss up between Chalobah and Cleverley for me. Few silly mistakes from Cleverley so far but seems a good influence on the team.
Agree about Cleverley. And I suspect Garner will become a regular. I’d have Gray over Perica too right now. And I’d recall Cucho in January.
This from a Jamaican reporter, the one I got information from re. Norman Campbell. https://twitter.com/SimeyP93/status/1317157584751742983?s=20 Simon Preston @SimeyP93 · Oct 16 Reggae Boy Adrian Maraippa had progressive talks with a few English clubs today. Hopes to pen a deal soon.
Personally I hope he does go elsewhere. Decent bloke but it would be a bit of a regressive move to bring him back for a year. Plus, I suspect playing regularly would mean more to him than being a backup here given his limited years left. Can see a Millwall or Wycombe snapping him up to keep him local. That said, I suspect it will be a succession of one year deals for him now as he falls down the leagues and eventually rolls out for Hemel or Wealdstone in a few years.
I don't think we'll see Masina too much as he's supposedly angling for a move back to Italy, more likely if we do play a 4 at the back we'll bring a free agent in (Asamoah I hope)
I don't think there's any way he'll play for Watford again. Pretty sure it's been said somewhere he's been training and keeping fit away from the club.
My first choice in a 4231 when everyone is available: - Foster Ngakia Kabasele Cathcart Kiko Capoue Hughes Sarr Pedro Sema Perica Subs: - Bachmann Troost-Ekong Wilmot Dele-Bashiru Chalobah Deeney Gray
