https://www.watfordfc.com/news/club/at-our-place-virtual-fans-forum-announced I imagine the bed wetters questions will be put top of the list.
Can't wait to hear all of the incisive, thoughtful and insightful questions that will be put to the club this time around.
I'd like to know, when fans are allowed back in the stadium, would the club consider selling dill pickle chips at the food counters?
“So, erm, Gino. I have one question...” “No, sorry, I’m Scott. Scott Duxbury. Not Gino”. “Oh, ahem, sorry right. So, Gino, I have one question split into 19 parts. I’m sure you’ll come to agree ticketing arrangements for Tuesday away games are directly linked to the team’s need to field our strongest first eleven when we play Ipswich...” [Continued Pg 94]
All the questions will be coming in through email and social media, so I assume they'll just be answering the nice questions and ignoring all the difficult ones. I will be submitting a question regarding the role of Giraldi at the club. I'm interested to hear from Scott about what his role actually entails, whether it is really necessary for him to be hanging around the pitch/dressing room on matchdays, and what previous managers have thought about his involvement with the team. I would be very interested to hear what Vlad thinks of him. I don't suppose my question will be raised but I would encourage anyone else with similar concerns to submit a question as well.
I wouldn't waste a fart for these ****bags to smell, let alone my time to compose and ask them questions.
This is gonna be bed wetter heaven. ! Seriously though a chance for the owners to explain some of their more unusual decisions and some openness and honesty hopefully.
They should have a special fans forum exclusively for all the Shoutbox Hero’s . Get the popcorn in , sit back and enjoy .
Take it from someone who went to the last one, there are many more ‘clappers/COG’s’ who lend themselves to these events.
Even as a clapper I’m very interested in finding out about a) what they think went wrong last season , and whether their view on the head coach role has now changed b) the current financial situation of the club and levels of debt. So yes it’s a chance to ask some tough questions but in a sensible , constructive way. Previous fans forums I’ve heard broadcasted have been well organised. Admittedly , you always get some people asking pretty stupid questions , but that’s to be expected .
So long as he doesn't say that he wants promotion this season, but would be content with going down fighting, and admits that the Pozzo's are the worst owners ever, I think he may get away with it.
The last one definitely was not organised well. Again, take it from someone who was there. Hadn’t booked the venue properly and Duxbury’s and Deeney’s attitudes stunk. Duxbury needs to be far more open and warm towards fans on the last ones evidence. I think any question about debt/finance will be given short shrift. It was asked last time and was palmed off. Any question like that will need to be carefully constructed - think it would be better framed as asking what impact it would have on the club to not get promoted at the first time of asking or something similar. Personally, I would ask what changes have been or will be made to the model after last season - and highlight the concern that the signs to fans are nothing has been learned after giving another coach just 12 months to achieve something.
Was that in early 2019? I remember you mentioning an event from that time when the team was playing poorly (they’d just got a lucky 0-0 draw at Brighton IIRC) and where Deeney was irritated by fans who questioned the teams’ commitment during the second halves of seasons. I sort of understand his reaction, because the team did rally to string a few wins together and reach the FA Cup final, but then there was another late season slump, albeit later than the norm.
Apparently they had in a pub which ended up basically being in the middle of regular pub customers! Be a bit different and more testing I am sure than previous ones which have been quite cosy as we have been doing ok.
That's because all the bed wetters like yourself spout their nonsense online and don't have the ******** to say it to someone's face.
I'd like an upgrade to Pie Minister pies. Make it happen, Gino. Even if we have to sell Sarr to fund it.
You realise I went last time and asked a critical question right? As documented on this very forum and backed up by others that were there. Try again being clever because it hasn’t worked out for you this time.
Agreed. These bedwetters are a bunch of ******* who've never even been out of their flats anyway. I have noticed that you've said some pretty cutting things on here about Troy Deeney and Andre Gray in the past. How did they react when you told them to their faces?
They had a tablet on watching the Everton game and Deeney was beefing with fans. It was utterly bizzarre.
It was far from verbatim, but here is my summary of the London "at your place" event from Feb 2019: Stadium expansion confirmed. 25k initially and then to 30k. They have planning permission for both GT and SEJ stands. Club did try sign a centre back in January, but weren't happy with the options on the market. Doucoure sale not guaranteed. Will only sell if they feel there is quality in the squad to replace him and the the money can be used to strengthen the squad. They gave the example of Richarlison saying with Geri and Pereyra there they felt he wasn't a great loss and the finances were too good. Also stated his sale was over £45m. No decision made on which loanees will feature for us next season. Cucho, Lukebakio and one other (Bachmann?) have all impressed Fillipo this season, but it is a matter of whether they will get enough game times with the quality we already have. Spoke about Gerard Deulofeu - Deeney said he is not concerned about the lack of goals because he is getting into the right positions often enough. Fillipo said that as a scout it is a problem with lots of former Barca/La Masia players that they train as kids and have 10+ chances a game, and so even if they convert 1 in 3 they will win the game comfortably. It takes time to get used the pressure of having to take the one chance you get a game. Deeney as vocal as ever. Got extremly annoyed at a fan who asked if we had started our yearly slump. He said "even if you think we dont care, we make money from winning games, do you really think we actively try and and lose?" Also he has given up drinking. Event was generally good, but there were some absolute melts. Funny that they were dissatisfied with the quality of CBs on the market so decided to wait and still ended up with someone as ******* awful as craig dawson.
Surprised the last one was as long ago as 20 months ago, how time flies. Maybe if these things were more frequent and the more vocal and critical fans (but in a constructive way) had had more of their say it might have saved our season.
They problem is that the questions you really want to know the answer to never get answered. They are very good at providing detailed answers to the questions they want, and very short answers to the questions they don't want. There are a lot of questions to get through, so they have a good excuse to avoid the questions they don't like. There are other issues as well - I would have wanted to ask a what I think was a reasonable but critical question about their recruitment of a striker, but as Deeney was at the event, I felt like it would have been more than a bit insensitive. Players like Mariappa and Deeney are legends and have given a lot to the club, so it would be massively disrespectful to raise concerns about them at an event like that, but there were valid questions to be asked about why they were still playing regularly. Those were two major issues that contributed to our relegation, and I don't really think the fan forum is actually the place to raise those issues.
