Maybe we don't think Manning would be good enough in case we get promoted either, in which case he'd be pretty expensive for a one-season option? It seems odd he's not been snapped up yet.

Douglas is clearly the budget, short-term option compared to Manning and Giannoulis though of course.

The only reason why this could make sense, other than the Pozzos being cheapskates, is if Ivic does plan on sticking with 3-5-2 for most of the season, in which case Sema and Femenia might stay as our first-choice LWBs and therefore we only actually need to bring in a player to be a back-up LB in the rare cases Vlad may want to switch to 4 at the back - in that case it makes little sense to splash out a lot on a player who may only make say 5 starts and 10 sub appearances across a season anyway.

Douglas Badar would be more mobile then Murray and possibly from the same era

Tin Legs Murray has a metallic ring to it. Hope there is some WD40 on the touchline. Painful listening to those creaks emanating from the bench as Gramps got up.

I have a totally irrational dislike of man buns, alice bands and socks pulled up to the upper thigh. .... Or men with girl hair and stockings as I see it.

It does seem strange that he's not been signed yet. The only thing I'm thinking is that he can sign a pre contract in January.

I wondering whether bazza is the only Leeds player without a man bun. If so, have Leeds discriminated against a player because he is without said man bun. If so, shameful

AL says he’s an option, but he also mentions Marcos Alonso in the same article.

    Clearly he’s got no idea.

The most recent From the Rookery End is a painful listen. AL is on there for his "transfer insight" and frankly, it's embarrassing. It's fine that he hasn't got a clue but it's embarrassing to try to dress it up like he has.

In fairness to him he says: "Chelsea have a number of left-back options, but it’s unlikely Marcos Alonso or Emerson would want to drop down a division. Ian Maatsen might be more realistic but is far less experienced."

He isn't linking Alonso to us, he is running through all of the PL left backs who are currently surplus to requirements.

Its pointless padding in the article, but I guess it is kind of a symptom of having to put out a certain number of articles now that he is a member of the Athletic, despite the fact there appears to be very little leaking out of the watford camp.

The two non pozzo signings we made arrived without any journalists reporting it, and Troost Ekong was only known about because his agent posted a picture of himself at Watford's training ground on social media.

Being a professional ITK reporter covering our club must be an impossible task. Only Moog and the man at ESSO have any insider info, and no one has seen the 2 of them in the same room/forecourt at the same time.

Gutted. But must mean that Gino and the team have other promotion winning irons in the fire (not West Ham players hahaha). Fully expect 4 or 5 top quality players by Friday.
