I’m far too lazy and wouldn’t be eloquent enough... So who is going to email the club or that Dave Messenger guy and let him know that it would be wise for the club to formalise plans for another event as soon as the window closes?! I feel like a lot of rumour and ill-informed opinion (both negative and positive) could be potentially be cleared up if fans are actually allowed to ask questions on everything that’s gone on in the past 18 months...
I went to one they held in a boozer round the back of Marylebone station a while back. It was an utter shambles. Would love to see the mess they'd make of attempting to put on a 'virtual' meeting!
I for one am still very angry they never sorted out the away ticket stub debacle in 2006. Unless Gino and Scott can answer for that travesty I'm not interested in meeting them. That's something I've made clear at every At Your Place and At Out Place in the past 7 years.
Haha, I was also there... Held just after the January window closed and we’d turned out noses up at Kabak and any number of other CB’s - to be told by Giraldi and Duxbury that it was a position they knew we needed to massively improve in...we have had Craig Dawson since. And also for Troy gobbing off at some fan for daring to ask if the players would slack off again as the season ends...and they did. And another Troy classic - saying he would rather focus on the league and make sure they come 7th to get Europe as ‘you could always get City in the Final and what’s the point in that?’ Quite right Troy.
I'd forgotten that! I thought that was pretty poor coming from the club captain. I also wasn't impressed by the fact that our talisman turned up for the evening wearing what appeared to be some kind of camouflage romper suit! I wasn't expecting a blazer and club tie, but bloody hell...
Someone can ask about the catering and toilets. Wasn't there a mini one with Pearson when he came in ?
Indeed (i am sure people were selling stubs for vast prices on ebay at the time), and the funds that I had in my club cash account that disappeared overnight 10 years ago!
Have tried to block that pathetic Marylebone experience out of my memory. Sometimes things go wrong---there are logistical screw-ups, people make mistakes. But it left such a terrible impression of the club I've supported for years, in large part because almost every representative of the club just came across badly. Arrogant, dismissive, disinterested. Nothing about it made me think the people in charge knew what they were doing. I do think the club made a mistake by not engaging with fans via Zoom or whatever over the past six months. Yes, it wouldn't have been warm and friendly. But at least it would've allowed supporters to ask questions, understand the direction the club wants to take things and offer some perspective on fan frustrations. Instead we get Pravda-style website content and and "we go again!" on social media. C'mon Watford, how about it?
Hardly seems fair to subject Ivic to the knuckledragging questions some of our fans will ingeniously conjure in a forum like that. Duxbury fully deserves it, as do quite a few others, but Vladimir as the sacrifical lamb/human shield? Very unfortunate.
What are the odds that this becomes hacked by you know who or something obscene appears. I'm not referring to Floppo this time..... I am sure our fanbase will grill Scott but heap praise and best wishes on Vladimir. We all know who we support.
