On the one hand, I didn't realise he's been released by Bournemouth, so we wouldn't be financially benefitting a potential promotion rival, but on the other hand he got released because he was ******* ****. Yeah this is the Championship now, but he showed nothing in the Premier League, would he really do anything?
Hurray. Just what the doctor ordered. Another Jerome Sinclair. Badly regressing as a player. On high wages. Perfect. What could go wrong ? Poor Vladimir.
It’s just agent talk. He’s claiming interest from several Championship sides and some in Germany, Not much to see here.
Imagine if we had released Jerome Sinclair and found out Bournemouth were trying to sign him. We would all find it hilarious. What an embarrassment of a club we have become. It seems the source for this is a podcast https://twitter.com/Podcast_TBG/who have just done an interview with Ibe this afternoon. Safe to say this is probably more a case of him putting his name out there (or at least I hope it is).
Hoping it's nonsense. I know a number of people say Ivic may well shift his formation to one incorporating wingers, but assuming we do stick to 3-5-2, where on earth do the recruitment team expect him to play?
Please god no. I didn’t let some Bournemouth supporting mates live that one down when they signed him, but they did shell out ridiculous money for him whereas this would be a freebie. No getting away from the fact he is absolutely useless though, Championship or not.
“Once you’re a manager, do a quick check before away games. Look at your players prior to the coach leaving and count the hearts. If there are less than five, don’t bother setting off.” Harry Storer
I'd take him. He's crap but we're fishing in the turd pond now and we need whatever floaters we can get our hands on. Plenty of players that are rubbish in the Premier League but ok in the Championship. Biggest thing that counted against him at Bournemouth was his transfer fee (ok, and ability) but we need some bodies through the door quickly and he might not be a total car crash in the Championship, as his season at Derby showed.
Hopefully fans won't throw the baby out with the bath water and realise this signing washes it's face AND it's low hanging fruit. It's a quick win all round.
Speaking of which didn’t Mr Ibe drive his Bentley into a coffee shop before vacating the scene? Sounds perfect fit for us to be honest.
Ah ok, didn't know that. Just looked it up and it appears he had 11 points on his licence before it happened, got banned (giving the usual flannel about full responsibility) and then got caught by the police driving whilst disqualified and was in rehab as recently as May! Maybe we should pass after all...
