Just waiting for this season. Pure overdrive from him I predict.

 

Doubt he can Turner round his struggling watford career.

 

He can't be worse than Deeney and Gray. Bring him in!

Then again, Abdi and Ighalo weren't pulling up trees either in their career.

Think we'll get some Belecks, but hopefully we get some Vydras/Abdis - They've seen what moving to Watford can do - Vydra is in the Prem, and Ighalos at United.

 

In fairness though, Udinese were a very good team then, and had Granada under the Pozzo umbrella, do they have any players who are dispensable to them who would come here and do a job in the Championship?

 

To be honest, I'm not sure who was on their books who they loaned out - Appears this Perica was loaned out. I don't even know who we have anymore - We sold Matheus and Berecca - I didn't even know we owned them (Did we, or has Gino pulled one again?)

 

I think the only players that would definitely improve us are their main men-
Musso, Mandragora, De Paul, Larsen and Lasagna.
No chance of any joining us.

Ones that might be useful- more fringe-players for them:
Becao, Ter Avest, Samir or Walace

I guess could be persuaded, at a push. The rest are either past-it, ex-orns or kids.

Edit- I forgot about Antonin Barack. He would be worth bringing in imo. Strong midfielder that was on loan at Lecce last season- so potentially out of favour.

I know a lot of our fans see this sort of signing as the end of the world as we know it, and that everybody hurts after relegation, but getting promoted isn’t exactly getting a man on the moon. We’ll all be smiley, happy clappy people again in no time.

 

I've mentioned him before. Had an excellent start at Udinese. Went off the boil a little, hence the loan. But is still a very good player. Would he better our team I have no doubt about it.

Just been on loan at a relegated Lecce. Probably more akin to Doucoure than Capoue

 

He will score 8 in 800 minutes spread across 40 games

Means he's a bit of a maverick. Another box ticked. In all seriousness it would surely offer less protection as he seems to be wearing shorter shin pads.

If Suarez stays bringing this guy in is good business. A cheap Plan B with who gives us a different option as none of our strikers are a threat in the air.

On the other hand if Suarez goes and we have Deeney, Gray and this guy I will puke.

 

Was very glad to see Suarez that played yesterday, if he didn't, I'd have been very worried that he'd be on his way-he still may yet be, but I think it'd have to take a crazy offer (the kind that would make it possible to keep Sarr?), and I don't see that coming in this climate.

Anyway, Perica sounds like more of a replacement for Deeney (except actually useful as a target man), hopefully the rumours of him going to West Brom are true

I've regularly watched Stipe play and can tell you that he's much better coming in from the right. But also the left. If you believe.

Doesn’t seem worth opening a new thread but Giaretta also said today that we hope to bring in 18 year old central midfielder Martin Palumbo from Udinese this week. Played once for their first team last season and has represented both Italy and Norway at youth level. Although not at the same time obviously!

He also said that we won’t be using anybody in the friendlies who wants to leave. So that should increase the paranoia around here when we see who starts against Spurs!

 

If we don't get him, it will be the end of the world as we know it.

 

Damn we're going to struggle to find a starting 11 then.

 

Where did he say that about Palumbo? I’ve seen him linked elsewhere but in the Giaretta interview on TuttoMercatoWeb this morning he just said that we would “do something” with Udinese. As far as I could see only Perica was explicitly mentioned. I think some on twitter then drew inferences from what he said, interpreting it as referring to Troost-Ekong and Palumbo.

 

Can he play the Palumbo role?
