Sure he seems good in the air, but isn't he rather lethargic?! Dawson is decent at set pieces, but it doesn't stop him being a crap defender.
Does anybody think Fluminense are still talking to Watford? https://globoesporte.globo.com/fute...&utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=ge_fluminense They've a 15-year old midfielder named Arthur who is about to move up to the U23 group, already has a deal with Nike, represents Brazilian age group sides and unsurprisingly he looks pretty good. They've also knocked back several offers from abroad - surely they remember us fondly though don't they? It does look as if the Brazilian side have learned from being stung by us in the Joao Pedro transfer however, they have this kid tied to legally binding contracts. He signed paperwork which keeps him at Fluminense for the next 4 years, much like our academy deals I imagine, with professional status coming when he turns 16. He's probably out of our league already but one to keep an eye on in the coming years.
Andy Naylor, who writes about Brighton matters for The Athletic, has written an article about their CB’s and their plans. Says Duffy will leave and likely to WBA. But says Clarke will also leave, likely on a season long loan to the Championship or abroad. Derby interested again as well as others in the division.
I mentioned this on another thread where Atzili was mentioned. He was just dismissed from Maccabi Tel Aviv after being the subject of an allegation of statutory rape. Can’t see us moving for him as a result.
Wouldn't mind Connor Gallagher on loan from Chelsea. Was good for Charlton and Swansea last season and played pretty much every game, so knows what it's all about in the Championship. Good box to box midfielder. Young and energetic player.
Come on Gino, pull your finger out, surely we're more attractive than feckin' Wayne Rooney's Derby County?
Obviously you’d sticking by Troy panned our well but aside from general moral concerns, us signing a statutory rapist would be a PR nightmare. I would also imagine it would be difficult if not impossible for Atzili to leave Israel unless/until any proceedings are resolved.
NO I agree. shame and scourge of many young football players though.(although he's not that young) from the article I saw no charges will be pressed. but he still did it!
This is what ticks me off!! We should be in for him. Ridiculous that we are not. Brighton defender Matt Clarke looks to be heading for Derby County, who want to take him on loan for a second consecutive season, Sky Sports News can confirm. Clarke was Fans' Player of the Season at Derby after making 37 appearances. Discussions between Brighton and Derby are ongoing, but with so many central defensive options, it seems manager Graham Potter is happy for Clarke to go
You're being sensible here rather than the typical pointless misery guts - have you taken some meds today or something?
Christ he must ancient by now, done nothing since Rockford Files and he wasn't young then. It's a no from me.
He has a lot of potential, but he's still only 19 and physically seems it. He's only played about 300 minutes of senior football so far. Wouldn't harm to have him in the squad, but would he really be a better option than say Quina? Not sure.
Seems to be Adam Crawford of The Athletic: https://mobile.twitter.com/adamcraw95/status/1296888486692347911
Don't know anything about this kid, but hopefully, given that he's supposedly a Doucoure replacement, he's more of a #8 than a #10
He doesn't seem to have a fixed preference from what I can gather and have seen of him - he's played as both a Carrick-type deep-lying playmaker, or Scholes-esque goalscoring midfielder. Those are the two players I think Utd fans mostly compare him to.
In all honesty though, I'd like a new midfielder with the possibility of Capoue/Hughes being sold or TDB being loaned out, but for now we do have more pressing needs. Taking away Welbeck, Pereyra and Deulofeu (who, even if we somehow manage to keep hold of him, probably won't be fit for the start of the season anyway), and not including Cucho who's not back until January (if at all), Penaranda and Success (who will surely leave in some way this summer) as it stands, we only really have Sema as a back-up winger, and although we have strikers, apart from Suarez and Pedro (who's more of a wide player anyway), they're ready for the knacker's yard
Not forgetting Wilmot has said he's a couple of weeks behind everyone else due to recovering from an operation at the tail end of last season. Stack & Mullins should forget about standing in for head coaches and their assistants and register as players this time round.
