Also there is obviously some guess work with this, but it puts our wage bill at £43m:

Accurate wage figures are probably in our accounts anyway, but if it’s true the players have got 50% reduction clauses then that’s £20m saved instantly, although there was some debate about whether the top earners have the clause. That said, either way a few of the higher earners will be sold anyway so one way or the other we should save at the very least £20m on wages.

Good reason to sell Gray as he is the highest earner alongside Doucoure .

It would be £7m off the books straight away, but there in lies the problem. If Gray doesn’t have a 50% clause, who would pay him £70k per week? Or even if he does £35k per week for that matter?

I think the only hope we’d have to shift him off the wage bill is for a knock down transfer to compensate.

I'd be happy if both of them go anyway, whether we stay up or not.

Yes - I presume we aren't expecting something like what we paid for him !

And any bids of £40-£50 million for Doucoure.

Although Gray hasn’t done that well for us in the Premiership, he record in the championship is very good, should we be relegated, next year could well see him scoring goals again!

If we get relegated you may well be right, but refuse to believe that is going to happen....................

I haven’t posted as often as I used to in the last couple of years. But, having read a few of your posts in the last couple of days, I am glad to see your positivity and un-erring belief hasn’t been shattered by recent events!

I think this is a good sign it may mean that if we are going down then the owners are going to invest and push to head straight back up.

Agree mate. Our budget will certainly be bigger than most in the championship. Gino putting his money where his mouth is. Could backfire if they employ the wrong manager and players. Could be a stroke of genius if we hire the right manager and players. Either way, it’s going to be an exciting transfer window now. Looking forward to the token Belgium dud we sign.

I can see The Pozzo's going with Jokanovic if we go down because the Pozzo's know what they are getting. Yeah, I used to love the days of signing 100 random players a day and then trying to find out if they were any good on youtube or googling stats lol. Hopefully, if the club is planning on an automatic promotion campaign it means that we keep some of our key players. The more I think about it I am not sure I will be that bothered if we are relegated tomorrow.
