Very passionate and really laid into the Pozzos/team etc.

Almost sounded like he was in tears.

He did sort of conflict himself a bit saying the Pozzos were all sorts then praising them!

Tbh I would say keeping Pearson would have made no difference on these 2 games .

The media shouldn't use that as an excuse .

God, some of our fans are just embarrassing. I'm disappointed Pearson sacked but had he been in charge tonight would we have got a better score, I doubt it. Also he mentioned Pozzo no experience in football.. Very wrong there.

We're top of the league and he doesn't use one swear word or profanity. Seriously a bad day at the office for everyone today.

    Agreed.

The presenter didn't help by acting as if Pearson going was the soul reason we might go down.

And Cundy as a Chelsea fan can hardly talk about management continuity !

They did let him go on a bit ..

Pozzos know their stuff but unfortunately lost all momentum and focus on the squad.

I didn’t agree with much of what he said. But he showed more passion on that call than our players did on the pitch

Yes - and as someone else said it gives the players an excuse and get out clause to say Pearson going affected them.

Pearson would have made a difference. He has shown by beating Liverpool and Wolves and Man U how to play against top teams. No point in playing Deeny up top when you are getting 10 players behind ball . Should have let Sarr use his pace in this game as the lone outlet and pack the midfield. Save Troy for the Arsenal game. Pearson finished the west ham game with full credit having got the players to perform as they can do.Goal difference is huge and now the players are playing for a manager who they dont know for games. Absolutely mind blowing. The board have thrown you under a bus. Vanity has relegated you !!

No credit for how we started it. We were not starting games well enough since the restart under him. And he would've started Deeney as well. Loved him.

We will never know for sure, but I don't think Pearson would have produced a better result for us last night. In fact considering the virtual first team City put out against us I think we came out of that game better than I for one expected.

Talking about the virtual City first team we played against, I think Arsenal indirectly ****ed twice this week! First of all they go and beat City in the cup at the week-end, which got PG all riled up and hence the strength of the team he put out against us. Then last night Arsenal made six changes and played a basically reserve team against Villa, which led to them getting beat at Villa Park for the first time in TWENTY ONE ******* YEARS

Surely it would’ve been easier for Pearson to have got a result against Burnley, Southampton or West Ham, rather than a full strength City with several players going for league records?

At least we did not cave in. If only the morons on the pitch had shown the same level of application and commitment against WHU last Friday I don't think we would have been 2-0 down in the first ten minutes. It shows you they can do it just that they chose not to do it and do it it seems when they choose to do so.

Yep, setting up with our porous 4-2-3-1 formation was absolutely mind blowing.

The sad obsession of our technical director with that formation is quite something to behold.

Players were pumped up and wanted to do well under Pearson when he came in.

Now Foster says they lack morale and confidence.

I don't think even Klopp or a good Mourinho would have made any difference yesterday.

Pearson wouldn't have started Pereyra, which was the one that got me.

No, he'd have started Welbeck out of position on the left and given Kiko absolutely no cover at all. Look back at West Ham's second on Friday - gutless defending by Masina to not press to prevent the cross, but similarly useless 'help' provided by Welbeck who was close by too.

Despite offering zilch going as an attacking threat yesterday (or in fact all season), Pereyra made some tackles, got in close proximity to their guys and carried the ball up the pitch from within our half a number of times. He made more tackles and interceptions (2, 1) than Doucoure (1, 0) yesterday.

Welbeck should have started in Deeney's place.

Redknapp did say that if you swapped Pep for Mullins before the game the result would’ve been the same.

I would imagine Mullins, knowing Pereyra is looking to leave, told him it was his chance to go out and earn himself a decent move hoping it might just inspire him to put in one of the long forgotten performances we know he is capable of.

And for a while it looked like it might have worked, because he was running around like a two year old for about 10/15 minutes, I even commented to my wife that I had never seen him move so fast when he sprinted out of defence to close down a city midfielder early on, but alas it did not last

Don't start me on West Ham's first...

    Too many errors to list.

Maybe Pereyra was ok yesterday. I still couldn't believe he got selected given his attitude and application this season.

Welbeck used to play the left of a 3 for England if my memory serves me right. I'd say that's one of his positions.

But yes, why Deeney started I can't imagine.

My hope is we're resting Welbeck to start him against Arsenal.

    He might well have done.

Pearson's teams virtually never get hammered and we needed at least a 2-0 defeat to stop Villa pipping us to 17th, which I think Pearson would've achieved - sadly we'll never know if I'm right.
