Indeed. They've proven that 6 times this season out of 32 attempts. A whole twice away from home against teams currently below us. I'm all in. Whole mortgage on a 0-3. COYH!!
On the balance of probability we have next to no chance at all. The best we can hope for is to make sure the goal difference is not damaging. Play compact and hit on the break. Funnily enough it suits us when teams come onto us. When they sit back we normally have no idea on how to break them down.
When Nigel was first appointed he seemed alarmed at the fitness levels of the players. Remember his comments after the 3-3 draw with Tanmere? So why do our players look worse now than they did then? Has the manager downed tools? Have the players stopped caring or training properly? We look like a team playing pre-seaon friendlies at the moment. Not good enough in a relegation battle. I think our players might have been affected by the absence of supporters. They are a fragile lot who need encouragement which is why we seem to get a new manager bounce whenever we bring a new manger in. If we improve fitness and confidence levels we still have a reasonable chance to stay up. Our performances away to Liverpool and Man Utd under Pearson were decent so that is the best we could realistically hope for from this match.
We’ve got super Nigel Pearson He knows exactly what we need Shambles at the back Toothless in attack We’re never staying in the Premier League
Actually, this is true. Burnley and Saints were good examples (Palace another one) of well-organised teams which just snuffed-out our play, which became more ponderous and predictable as desperation crept in. Chelsea might well play open football and allow us to play a bit. The problem, though, is that they are much, much better than us. Kabasele, for all his brain-farts, must come back to give us a bit of defensive pace. Masina has suddenly become a bit of a whipping-boy. But Holebas is surely past it. Don't, repeat don't, put Peyreyra on the wing.
We've played 184 PL games under the Pozzos. We got 100 points from the first 84 games and 104 points from the last 100 games. We've been scraping the barrel for a long long time. We've just played 3 teams that are significantly better than us. Luckily 1 of them was off form so we scraped a point. If our players don't step up, and they probably won't, we're down. The one big positive is we won't be watching Championship/league 1 football in a deserted souless arena. The Pozzos have given us 5 years in the prem and a fantastic stadium upgrade. Can't complain.
...we seem to get a new manager bounce whenever we bring a new manger in. [/QUOTE] No wonder they play in such a bovine way.
I wouldn't actually mind seeing Pereyra play in a central position, I am not sure who he should replace but I just feel that we lack any composure playing the ball out at the moment.
Pereyra attacking mid, Doucs and Hughes/Capoue further back? Gives one of Hughes/Capoue a rest given they've played the lion's share of minutes since the restart SARR WELBECK PEDRO OR WE RIOT!!!
Holebas has actually done surprisingly well when he's come on, if we ever use a wing-back system (which may need Masina at CB anyway), I wouldn't be opposed to seeing Holebas
There was that chap a couple of years ago who put black bin bags over seats in the Upper GT because he was unhappy the director's box was being extended. Think he even posed for the obligatory sad-face photo in the Wobby, though I can't find it online now.

if your feeling optimistic I think I have the last 2 games on sky+ I can send you copies, sure that will cure it. sadly though I know exactly where you are coming from , we are going to get ****ed , I’m going to watch , it will start with me feeling like we have a chance , then we won’t turn up, get to 1/2 time only 1 goal down , then we will come out and play for 15 mins, then we will loose 4-1, then I will end up looking at the other results praying all the other teams screw up
I can’t really see any way forward now, we need to shake up things for instance playing JP or moving Bobby into the center or shooting big Troy (yes 2 weeks ago I was defending him) but if you were the manager would you either A) play the same team hoping you can just about scrape enough points , let’s be honest we will probably pick up another 5 points before the end of the season , which might be enough , knowing if this goes wrong you can blame your senior players B) Throw caution to the wind drop some seniors , move some around and pray that team is better that the **** team you have been playing , knowing if this goes wrong everybody will be on your back about dropping the senior players I would like us to say **** it let’s go down fighting , drop the deadwood , bring on some youth and give it a go , but think the sensible option is A and Pray everybody else continues to be ****
4-5-1 Foster Dawson Kabasele Cathcart Masina Sarr Hughes Chalobah Pereyra Pedro Welbeck Back 4 stay compact, with Hughes and Chalobah sitting just in front. Pereyra to play centrally, get Sarr, Pedro and Welbeck to hit them on the counter. We’d still lose but I wouldn’t have to watch hoofball up to Troy, at least.
Spot on, watching hoofball to Danny will make a refreshing change from Deeney hoofball. Got a mix it up a bit!
Exactly. Variety is the spice of life. I hope to see us play some hoofball to Penaranda at some point too.
Peñaranda is obviously absolutely gash but I'm quite up for giving him a go. In the two or three games he's played, he's looked incredibly selfish but the kind of player who will keep taking people on and shooting regardless. Who knows, one might come off? Be better than the usual spineless nonsense.
sadly having seen all three play I think it’s us and muff, think villa have enough in the tank west ham have just been robbed of a goal, currently 1:0 down , make that 1:1
I think you're right. Bournemouth, Norwich and Watford are by far the worst three sides right now. The same three clubs who got promoted 5 years ago would be going down together.
I'm not overly convinced he is. He's always looked interested and decent enough when he's played. I give the fact that Giraldi shipped him out on loan no credence when it comes to his ability.
As if the task wasn’t hard enough already, we’re now going to be facing a Chelsea backlash after their disappointment tonight.
