Pathetic goal to concede. Gray missed a sitter as well. Glad I didn't go to this ****.

If there’s one thing I’ve missed about football, it’s feeling disappointed in Andre Gray’s finishing ability.

Foot was in line. Good decision. Also nice to hear the commentators getting behind it. When it's introduced to the PL next season and it should be seamless.

Nuno had a dream goes the song, but he had a mare in the last 10 minutes of normal time here.

Wolves dropping deep at 2-0 was the fatal mistake. Then taking off Ruben Neves for Ryan Bennett will make sure we dominate the final 10, grab an equaliser and dominate extra time.

Broke the TV screen when they scored the second. Had to watch the rest on my mobile phone. Can't believe it. Unbelievable!

Does buying a new TV count as an essential shopping trip?

I'd remembered Wolves as being the better side, but they weren't. I think my memory was coloured by the first few minutes of each half.

I also thought Man City were the better side in the final. They probably weren't, but I don't think I'll bother to check.

I never realised this until yesterday, the first pass Andre Gray managed to successfully complete to a team mate was his assist for the 3rd goal in extra time.

Not that I’m surprised or anything

I'm sure he mishit it. He was aiming for third row back behind the goal but scuffed it neatly to Geri.

It's like going back in time. before all this happened.... great game and day out, just a shame we totally bottled it in the final.
Well then again it could be Newcastle's turn to "buy" trophies now when/if the season resumes.

'Mishit'. A word that was created especially for Andre Gray. Definition in the Oxford English Dictionary. To strike or hit a ball badly (Andre Gray).

Wasn't Deulofeu sublime? I loved the way he popped up on either wing with relentless energy to work his mischief.

Watching it again my favourite goal was again, as it was in the stadium on the day, the Deeney penalty despite the brilliance of GD. The timing of the goal and the tension, the delay in taking the penalty and the incredulous celebrations were pure football gold. Oh happy days.

Agreed. The TV coverage didn't quite capture it, I thought, because they were concentrating on multiple VAR replays. At the time the wait seemed really long and Deeney had to wander around composing himself but after he scored I'm pleased to say his celebratory slide was right in front of us in the corner.

Like another poster, I still can't fully comprehend how good Geri's first goal is. The technique is unbelievable, to be able to wrap your boot around it when it's not moving and spin it perfectly, all while getting the right amount of power and speed, is insane. I'm sure he'd never be able to replicate that ever again!

That day I will never forget, I couldn't care less about the Final. A bit like Deeney against Leicester, the moment in the semi-final means more than the final itself. One of the best bits was the heavily intoxicated Wolves fans in the posh seats above us giving it the big un when they scored the second, throwing coins and generally being morons. That disappeared at our first goal and our second. They quickly made for the exit when Deulofeu's winner went in. They got the abuse their behaviour deserved.

It's a shame to watch that game back and see how good Pereyra was. It's also staggering to see Holebas's decline since that day. He was everywhere in the semi-final, ran for days. This season the bloke can't run at all

Not only did he manage to pass the ball, the amount of time he held onto it before passing allowing Geri the movement to pull away from covering defenders was brilliant!
