Good afternoon to you all. I hope you and your loved ones are all well and healthy during the PANDEMIC. May the only virus to sweep Watford be yellow fever, as the Hornets and Nigel Pearson escape the relegation zone to keep your place in the Premier League for another year. The last time we met was an intensely dull affair, Hayden Mullins was in charge and did a good job of stifling a Leicester side which was enjoying a magnificent first half of the season. Since then a man close to every Leicester fan’s heart has taken the reigns and from the outside at least appears to have given you a fighting chance after a really slow start to the season. We got back to winning ways against Aston Villa on Monday night after a frustrating couple of months triggered by getting absolutely pasted away at Manchester City and at home to Liverpool during the Christmas schedule. That of course firmly stamped out any tentative thoughts about another title campaign and since then we’ve floated in third place waiting and waiting and waiting for someone to come and catch us following various bad results and performances. It hasn’t happened though and after a few injury worries we seem to be getting back towards our best XI and our best form. It’s a big game for both sides at a ground I don’t have too many fond memories of! Other than the 0-3 we enjoyed the season after that famous playoff game I’ve never felt confident about us going away to Watford. We recently lost at Norwich and I’m expecting a similar game this weekend. They got stuck in, frustrated us and snatched a goal and while this Leicester side is full of talent I still have my doubts about whether they lack the aggression and winning mentality to do battle with a really feisty opponent. The likes of Chilwell, Maddison, Iheanacho, Barnes and Perez can be easily bullied. Defend deep and tackle hard and we struggle to break teams down. I fully expect Soyuncu and Deeney to go at it like the two nutters they are, that’s going to be a great match up to watch. For Watford it’s all about what happens either side of Deeney when Soyuncu follows him around trying to kick him, which he invariably will. Catch our full backs out on the break and Sarr could have a lot of fun running in behind. Now while we have had some problems with defending and scoring recently, we can give any team a right good seeing to on our day. I don’t think he would ever admit to it but I think Pearson really regrets not doing more to save his job here. He’d built so much in his time at Leicester and perhaps got carried away in the euphoria of our great escape but the events leading to his sacking were avoidable and largely his own work. It’ll be interesting to see how he approaches this game, knowing that a win would not only go a long way towards saving his current job but also as a bit of a **** you to the club that sacked him and moved on very quickly and successfully. Let’s face it, no one wants to see their ex better off without them. Will it go ahead? Will it be behind closed doors? Either way, may the best team win.
I don't get it. Where are the usual pictures of "northern" slums and slating of our opponents fanbase ? Where's the video clip of "THAT goal" ? No mention of Rebekah Vardy ? This is hardly going to enrage the Leicester fans forum and get us personal mentions in rival threads ? I'm not sure you fully understood the brief. Are you 100% sure you're a Watford fan ?
Watford’s greatest ever achievement is a toss up between losing an FA Cup final, getting embarrassed in an FA Cup final and a fat bloke shinning a volley in to set up a defeat in a playoff final..... Chat **** get banged, come at our Queen Beckeh and you’d better not miss pal. I’ll just leave this here...
My prediction for this match is if Leicester take the lead, chants of "going down, going down, going down" will ring out from the away end. Leicester fans have always taken pleasure in the demise of other clubs, more than any other fanbase. It's for this reason, I cannot stand them. Not sure why they are like this, but must be some kind of inbuilt inferiority complex they have. Leeds United fans also suffer from this type of affliction. They rather rub your nose in it than celebrate their own club's achievement.
Of course we would never ever dream of chanting sort of thing in a similar situation......? I hope we win but the Leicester cats still achieve a top 4 spot.
I’ve been stockpiling bog roll for weeks. Not because of Covid-19 but to use as bunting for my ‘Watford are going down’ street party.
He briefly had a wife, a sexy vixen called Vicky (very Lestah) and a kid called Dennis which was the stuff of nightmares. They never explained what happened to them, shot by toffs presumably. So have some respect, the bloke’s family were murdered.
Many a true word said in jest, I think is the case here. How do you create a dilemma for a Leicester fan? Ask him to choose what he'd like more...….. (A) qualifying for the Champions League or (B) being the side that sends someone down. I honestly think that would fry their brains. They are Schadenfreude's
Aye it’s true, we’re an incredibly childish bunch. Not childish enough to mock up a hybrid Leicester/Barcelona badge but still...
What's childish about that? I come from Barcelona, so are you also a bit racist as well? Cue the Fawlty Towers joke.
You seem to be in a bit of grump today HB1 ? You ok hun ? This is Filbert. We like him. He's almost one of us . Do you really think Leicester fans would struggle with the choice of champions league qualification vs relegating someone ??
Just passing on honest and truthful observations about their fanbase, which he doesn't like, then he comes back making it personal. Same old sh1t, different day.
It’s alright, I know you’re just trying to wind me up. I shouldn’t let myself be jealous of your mad photoshop skillz and the fact that you clearly know loads more Leicester fans than me.
I'm not sure it would have had the same comical value if Manuel was actually Mark who spoke with that slightly off Birmingham accent
We win the final game to finish the season above the relegation places. The season rests on this game as there will be no further matches. Norwich, Villa and Muff all take the PL to court and loose.
If you're representative of the general Leicester supporter, why is it they revel in the misery of others rather than support their own achievements? I just don't get that. You may not be personally like this, but the vast majority of Leicester fans are. I would have thought winning the league would have knocked that nonsense out of you, but it seems to only have intensified it. Leeds Utd fans are the same as well, and I know you cannot answer for them, but I wonder if their is a common link which I do not know about. Either way, it's far better just to support you own team, rejoice in your own achievements and don't worry about the plight of others. It's like you're on your way to pick up your lottery winnings, then you see an old man trip up on a sidewalk. Instead of showing concern, you wind down your window and give an exaggerated laugh. Just enjoy your lottery win, and show a bit of dignity to others not so fortunate or having a hard time of it. You never know.....one day you could be that old man.
The first goal will be all important in this one I reckon, as Leicester just love to be able to play on the counter. I'll predict a tight-fought 1-0 Watford win, our goal coming after we completely bamboozle Leicester with one of reids' set-piece routines which culminates in Foster rifling it in to the top corner from 20 yards.
We cannot expect Liverpool levels of complacency from Leicester. This will be a tough one so maximum effort and application required with Leicester chasing a CL spot. Probably the last fixture fans will be able to attend for this season as well. Pussetto/Welbeck for Pereyra on the left. Need some drive down that flank which was non existent from Pereyra at Palace. And get the ball to Sarr ASAP or make use of the space that will be given to others with him being able to attract players.
Hoping Pearson’s boys will do us a favour and let us win. They already thrashed Villa 4-0 this week, they don’t need the points. Let your side chick win this one Pearson.
Sorry to burst the HB1 bubble but most Leicester fans want success for the Leicester legend that is Nigel Pearson. To generalize a fan base is a bit extreme in my opinion.
Absolute nonsensical post. If we were to relegate somebody else, I’d absolutely love every second of it, and I’m confident the majority of our fans would too. If you don’t get satisfaction out of other clubs being more crap than ours, are you even a football fan?
It’s honestly not something that I’ve ever noticed or heard said about Leicester fans before. You could be right, I’ll look forward to a meaty chorus of ‘we’ll never play you again’ on Saturday though.
If it goes ahead with fans... 1-0 Watford Behind doors... 3-0 Leicester... Season gets abandoned before Saturday... NA or 1-0 Leicester with Mapps smashing a header defending in a 5 a side down Occ. Rd.
Weirdly feel more confident about this one than the Palace game. The 4-0 thrashing of Villa said more about Villa than Leicester. Diabolical team when Grealish is tamed. I think we can get in behind, test the left-back scummer properly and score goals. Vardy will score, of course, so we need at least 2.
Hoping the season is abandoned before Liverpool win the league (never going to let me hatred go , even in a thread about Leicester) think it will be a better game than last week as Leicester are not likely to play such a negative game, wouldn’t be surprised if we won convincingly (but only if we start somebody other than Bobby), then again wouldn’t be surprised if we lost 5-0 Watford 2 Leicester 0
I feel less confident than CP. LC are born to play on the break. The thought of Vardy, Barnes etc breaking against our back 4 is giving me nightmares. First goal so important. If we can get in front and afford to play on the break we may be ok but we really don’t want to be pushing forward too much against this lot.
