Lucky for us, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to sign him.

I don't like being churlish after such a great win but I certainly hope you remember your words before you post another negative comment about Deeney.

One of the interesting things I've noticed that by Pearson's down to earth, dare I say English presence, is he's now been accepted universally & become the face of the club, it's a feel good story & the media feel it's now ok to lord Watford up. Forgotten about all the managerial ins & outs & all the usual criticism.

Press love us now. Start of a new dawn. Worldwide potential is limitless now.

Also our badge can't easily be changed now either, after all the brand exposure across the globe this weekend.

I'm walking on a cloud at work today after a bloody amazing weekend.

Incredible what a good performance for the boys can do for you.

I think they just need to turn the Moose antlers into Hart antlers and keep the rest. I reckon most people would be OK with that.

Naff or not, it's our badge and it IS very distinctive. You have no problem picking out the Watford badge from a crowd.

Deeney is the Captain and our most experienced outfield player. He is not a young lad just moved away from his country and playing in a new league. I have always said that when he puts the effort in, then he can make a difference, but as his ability is not brilliant, so his effort is more important than a player who can get by with flashes of brilliance. But no one will ever convince me he is the goalscorer we need up front.

Deeney has himself admitted that he was seriously out of form, that he lost his way with his weight and fitness, and let himself down and as Captain, he has a massive responsibility to act like a professional leader. He also admitted that he deserved the criticism that he got. He got a huge pay rise one summer, and came back in August massively overweight. That is unforgivable.

You will note, that apart from the odd comment I thought a bit amusing, I have not criticised him over the past few months, but have praised him quite often, as he has certainly been putting in the effort.

So, I wouldn't say that you are being churlish, but merely demonstrating a lack of understanding. :D

What I do find interesting is that Deeney has himself said a few times now Pearson is holding him to account ...…. leads me to think he was getting away with murder with his previous coaches

Well that was fun wasn't it, what a night, everyone really put a shift in. A lot of Liverpool fans have being saying over the last few games that a defeat was coming but I don't think anyone thought it would be like that. They'll win the league but I really hope that is their only defeat, champions, long unbeaten run then defeat, a thumping to a Watford side out of form and in the relegation places.

Sorry mate you have got that wrong; I agree that Deeney would bleed yellow, but as for Barnes he's Liverpool through and through.

I know that HB, but so does everybody else, so that's why I wrote he's Liverpool through and through rather than he bleeds red ;)

I have a few Liverpool supporting friends and they've all said the same thing: the defeat was inevitable as they've been poor for a few games now and had only really beaten West Ham due to Fabianski's comical errors. To a man I thought we were tremendous: the closing down in twos and threes every time they got the ball, the seemingly endless wave of Watford attacks, the team effort to keep Salah, Mane and Firmino out (the first time Liverpool haven't managed to score in the league all season btw). Sarr was insane and the usual juggernauts of VVD, TAA, Robertson and Allisson (not counting Lovren because it's usually Gomez, and Lovren is terrible) really couldn't handle him.

Foster was a bystander for most of it which speaks volumes about our defence which was solid. Capoue was bloody everywhere, as he always is. If we'd have played Sarr at the start of the season he would be POTS but Capoue wins it for me. There were quite a few Liverpool fans in the home end and a few sitting around me in the UGT. Most at least stood up when we scored but one miserable git in front of me sat crossed armed for the entire 2nd half, and buggered off just after our third. ****.

Here's hoping Liverpool bounce back and thump the team they play at Anfield at the weekend, and that team happens to be Bournemouth. We need a result at Palace, a draw wouldn't be the worst result but a loss could mean this perfect game was for nothing, depending on the other teams of course.

Del boy has great skill and very little end product. Pereyra and Wellbeck can both cover for him. JP can play there too. Playing Pereyra gives us less pace but if he plays well in the last 10 games we wont miss Del.

I agree the momentum from this game should mean we go into the Palace game on a high and hopefully start the game as we finished v Liverpool, if we don’t get point(s) v Palace after last Saturday there would be no way we would do have we been thrashed by LFC, as the players would have possibly gone back in their shell and be in sulking mood! Funny old game!

It can be done but you have to mangle 'he's going to keep us in the premier league'. You also have to repeat the first two lines. Then if you leave out 'premier' it fits. But not if you sing it on one bellowed note. I might try to record a version later on.
