Fear not, this will not be a wasted transfer window. Someone will pitch up at the training ground car park this afternoon wanting to sign up. It’s the Pozzo model. I hear it could be a Mr Zuniga.
Looks like Josh King to Man Utd is on the cards. Howe hasn't denied it at his morning presser (@Keighley). Losing him so late in the window would weaken Muff for sure.
King is a decent enough player, but only at our level. He's not a Man Utd player. They're really lowering their standards if they sign him.....IMO.
Yeah, I think that's fair. I think maybe he's a top half PL striker but nothing more. Of course he was on Man Utd's books as a kid so may push for the move. Ole's just said he doesn't think it'll happen today but 'never say never'.
Second from bottom? Threatened with relegation? With millions of pounds and tens of thousands of fans hopes on the line, it sounds like what’s needed are some superstar signings, to secure Watford’s Premier League status. Namely: Teddy ‘never played for Burnley’ something and Ben ‘not in Burnley’s match day squad’ Gibson.
per BBC "Bournemouth's willingness to let Josh King leave for Manchester United would appear to hinge on whether they can sign Jarrod Bowen from Hull."
The woman covering us on SSN seems adamant that she’s expecting ‘1 or 2’ arrivals today. Whether that comes from a source at the training ground where she’s based, who knows. Probably just guess work around Pedersen and Gibson in reality.
Is there any hope, whatsoever that we are not going to utterly **** the bed for yet another window? Pearson has worked absolute miracles, but we're still in a vulnerable position. If the window slams shut on us having not strengthened our team, then it's pure and simple negligence by the Pozzos and Giraldi and they would not deserve us to stay up.
Have you cut and paste this from the summer/last January/the summer before that/the January before that/the summer preceding that/the January that came before that summer?
The negligence is cumulative though. One bit of complacency, fair enough. Failing to address it again, OK, maybe we tried but the targets couldn't be secured. On and on and on we go, however, and it's clear that it's a matter of policy, and that our arrogant owner and DOF think that a team can continue to ride their luck in the Premier League with aged, Championship standard defenders bought on the cheap, on auto-renewing contracts.
New canteen assistant and new apprentice groundsman. Both under wraps at the moment while Kev Afflecks gets the full background interviews done ready for the fishal site and social media reveal.
Deal for the new canteen assistant has fallen through after she misunderstood and thought she had to work alone. She's gon to Villa now.
Good work by Giraldi. It’s notoriously difficult to get tradesmen in January. And canteen staff have to want to come.
Yeah and obviously it would be a case of Chelsea "burning the cash" if they'd have ever tried bringing back Salah or KDB. (sure, King isn't quite in the same talent bracket, but you get the point)
It's probably 'cos she only just noticed we still have Deeney at the club and so trebled her wage demands.
Of course it would. If Chelsea buy KDB for 120m after selling him for 18m then that would be burning cash due to a previous poor decision.
That's not going to happen, you're making things up. If they'd have signed back Salah for the €42m Liverpool paid to Roma then it would have been fine. Sometimes players move too soon, or need some time away to develop before they're ready. The mooted fee for King is also about £27mil.
