Norwich are clear favourites according to the bookies. I'd agree a Norwich win is the best result by far. Bournemouth looked so bad and Norwich, despite their position actually play really well. Pukki may be back for them as well.
Oh no! I was planning on watching this down the pub with my son. But Whilst chatting with a work colleague I found out West Ham are playing at home at 3pm. I live in Stratford which means all the puns will be flooded with feral West Ham fans. Every West Ham fan that I know as friend is a normal and decent person. Every West Ham fan in a pub before the game would appear to be looking for scrap. Do I pub it or look for a river is the question?
Try the Marriot hotel at Canary Wharf. Just ask for the footy if it isn't on and sit at the bar or on the sofas, have a beer and something to eat. Nice place. West India Quay station DLR
All the pubs... Obviously I like 3pm kick offs. It just means all my local pubs will be rammed with West Ham fans.
You could show solidarity with fellow supporters and join the West Ham fans' demo against their owners which is taking place in Stratford before their game with Everton tomorrow. Sounds like it might be lively!
I know, and I know. Why not take your son on a bit of a trip to somewhere else in London? Somewhere by the river, maybe? You could make a day of it... EDIT: see something similar was suggested above. Some nice riverside pubs around Limehouse etc (he says, sitting in Bristol...).
I like the idea... but then I’d miss our game! Maybe if we are 3-0 after half an hour and three points are in the bag I’ll join them for a bit of tasty action.
It's funny how West Ham fans only seem to complain when their team is getting crap results. The most entitled fanbase in England.
Looking forward to this game, for the first time in a while! We have every chance of getting something out of it, and even if we do drop points, we'll still be in touch at worst
To be fair, the friends I know that attend have been complaining since before the stadium move. They don’t like the way things have been done. And that is compounded by the atmosphere in the new stadium. Two of them have stopped going now due to racist and anti Jew chanting - they are both white by the way, but when they speak to the stewards they get lambasted by the other fans. West Ham don’t expect to win things, but they expect good quality football (not the type of good quality football Muff think they serve up I hasten to add!)
Jesus christ, what the **** is going on at this point, how is this something that's on the increase?!?!
I’m not sure it’s on the increase. They had both moved of course due to the stadium move, so I think they got mixed up with racist fans, and then the stewards were terrible at first. It was during the period when fans were fighting with themselves. It is a worry though, as this is two of my friends that don’t know each other. And yet both have decided to stop going. And not due to one incident, but a period of feeling extremely uncomfortable or threatened.
Prediction : Spurs play the infamous 0-1-0 formation with Gazzaniga in goal and Son in midfield. They are overrun in the opening stages. Del boy misses a couple of sitters before Sarr puts the glorious golden boys ahead. Deeney is then put through one on one with the keeper, Son catches up with him but Troy clips the ball just as Son tries to tackle. VAR confirms it's a clear penalty. Gazzaniga stands tall expecting it down the middle but Troy whacks it to his right 2-0. Watford are cruising with 40 minutes on the clock. It's a different story in the second half as Son has more and more possession and scores a hat trick as 2 man Spurs hold on for the win.
Bringing my newly created Smiling Nigel acid house smiley flag to the game today. Hope its not the last time I bring it.....
You could go slightly out of your immediate area, I'm sure you could find a pub not to far away from where you live showing the game that will not be infested with 'Ammers fans
London town offers a variety of drinking establishments few of which are populated by knuckle dragging Essex 'men' even on match days.
When you put them together like this it does show how Spurs always seem to get the rub of the green against us. They even found themselves facing a wine waiter in goal in a semi-final all those years ago!
First one was the most frustrating I think. First season after promotion, we’d done so well with 10 men and then end up beaten by a blatantly offside goal.
Really looking forward to this one ! I’ve missed the last 2 home games so it’s the first time in a while I’ve been optimistic about a result . It’s gonna be a tough one but Nige has really turned tings around . The thing that’s surprised me the most , as I knew this team had it in them to up their performances , is how we are now putting away our chances and look purposeful in attack . That looked virtually impossible a few weeks ago . spurs are not in the best of states at the moment a d with Kane out I’m hopeful we could get a result today , though Son always seems to do well against Watford
