Looks like this one is not going to happen. https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2019/12/...ford-reportedly-suffer-22m-jean-clair-todibo/
We’ve clearly decided we don’t want him. Just as we don’t want any other player with lots of ability and ambition. Mariappa and our Swansea reserve will dominate the championship next season as we go 17 games without conceding.
Another contradictory report. This time suggesting the deal to Watford is still alive. http://sportwitness.co.uk/players-o...ns-alive-competition-feel-clubs-demands-high/
I can't believe we are going to spend £22m on a defender who is 18 years old. Even if that's true, who on earth would pick Watford over Milan?!
Plenty of stories about saying Milan need to be shedding a lot of their wage bill and selling not buying - hence no Ibrahimovic. I doubt signing a £22m CB fits into that.
Yes Milan have big problems. They need to shed a few during January. We really should be looking at them Ricardo Rodriguez is or was an excellent left back for instance.
I am sure he is a bit older than 18 years old. To be fair its not too hard to believe look at the money we spent on Sarr, if the Pozzos see sell on potential then it could happen. I have to admit Milan will be a big draw although I ain't sure they will be splashing out that kind of money in their current situation. He may also be tempted by minutes and Premier League, with the possibility of a move to a big club if he performs, which we can offer
Milan have no money, at least relatively. Well known in Italy they need to sell players and trim their wage bill. Hence Ibrahimovic signing for just 6-months as opposed to the 18-months that was touted. They are trying to offload all their fringe players to raise funds to offset the fact it’s looking very unlikely they will qualify for the CL. I doubt they will be spending £22m on Todibo, even if they wanted to.
Yeah I did a quick bit of research on Milan after I posted that and edited my post. I can't see them being in for him.
€1.5m just for the loan with an option to sign for €25m+€5m. Fair to say he was beyond our reach and that the stories saying we were close in the summer for £12m-ish were way off.
He's on loan right? Why's he going to be putting himself out in a nothing game and risk any big move?
It's true he didn't have a good game, though in his defence most players have struggled against Haaland this season and Dortmund were all over them. I reckon he's still s very good prospect, but he'd likely need a more experienced, commanding presence next to him at CB (which we are still kind of missing).
Rumours resurfacing again. Not had the best of times of it lately, but Schalke in general are a mess now, and he's still young so has time to develop, wouldn't be against this at all
That's if he wants to come here. He didn't last time. Probably dreams of playing infront of 60000 every week. The Vic is unfortunately not as appealing as the Veltins. And no chance of European football.
In fairness, they've been an absolute shambles top to bottom, he's been one of their better players. I'd be up for this, calculated gamble, which should improve an area we've needed strengthening for a while, and someone who should improve in the future
Not a follower of German football really so cant give an opinion. But didn't Schalke sign Kabak in defence? We were linked to him before . Anyways saw him for Barca vs inter and he looked excellent that game. A one off maybe but was possibly mom
