No thread for this chap? Yet dung like Gray does? Give me a break. I absolutely adore him and want to let it be known he's now my Favourite Player, and as such will be afforded all the benefits that position allows. 1. I will be his number one cheerleader and will defend him absolutely and without qualification on this forum and across all other social media platforms. 2. I will solemnly promise not to boo him at the match before halftime, no matter what the score or what his performance level is like. 3. I will shave my pubic hair with the same side-fade haircut that he has. 4. I will bump this thread after every match he plays in and analyse him deeply. He's unrecognisable from the hapless terd of previously. He looks quick, strong, composed. He was skinning the lower league tranmere cloggers for fun in a MOTM performance and also put in a sumptuous performance v bournemouth at the weekend. He's fluffing ace and I love him deeply. I've also heard he's an amazing character round the club. Really friendly and knows all the staff's first names and makes a real effort with everyone (you can see this in the clips the club post on twatter). Also very funny and brilliant to have in the dressing room. Also gave his shirt to that hag in the crowd he hit with the ball the other week. He's cemented his place in the first eleven after uncomplainingly being left out for so long. What a guy. Leave your gushing praise below.
Just searched his name on twitter, he's getting a lot of praise for his performance v bournemouth. Great reading.
He is a fine figure of a man in my opinion. He also appears good natured and caring,as the episode pre and post match v TRFC proved. I like him!
I got stick when I defended the guy in the summer, but I resisted the urge to tell the doubters 'I told you so'. ... until now
Great news. Welcome to the fan club. I urge you to watch the clips of him interacting with the the lowly staff members of the club. He's just bloody lovely with that big grin of his.
Oh I apologise. Please point me in the direction of the thread you made dedicated to his honour in the summer and I'll delete this one.
This beast is quickly becoming one of my favourite players. Strong, a powerful runner, does the basics and can defend. His positioning last season was a bit iffy but that's improved massively. He never looks flustered and always seems in control of whatever situation he finds himself in at the moment. Well done Adam and well done Nigel and the staff!
Having a run of games has done his confidence no end of good, Holebas will be going the same way as Britos!
Some of the most boring tattoos on the back of his legs - surely with Holebas, Deeney and Gray in the squad to give advice, he could have got something better?
He’s just a bigger older version of childlike-antics Fessi. Next he’ll be playing with his food making amusing pasta, carrot and lettuce faces on his plate .. And I agree, he’s become a very good player with some MOTM performances..
Interview in the Guardian - Says it is not possible to think of relegation, and background to a very difficult start in life. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/feb/07/watford-adam-masina-interview
What an impressive interview. I really hope he fully establishes himself as first choice. I also reckon he could play centre-back. I was frustrated when he got so few games early on, as he looked quality to me. Slowly becoming one of my favourite players in the team.
All too often now you read articles about what a tough start in life a footballer had because they had to walk ten minutes to school or something equally as mundane. Masina's story is different - that is a seriously tough start to life.
Consistent performances from players like Masina and Kiko make me think that actually the Pozzo recruitment is spot on. They've just been hiring the wrong managers until now.
Well....the coaches have been pretty decent to be fair, it's just their longevity that's been in question. They have all started well but faded badly, until the sack was inevitable. Be it a complacency or an over-familiarity, the players tended to switch off in spectacular fashion. Pearson is different. Is he a master tactician? Only average I'd say.....but he's probably one of the best motivating managers in the business. He and Shakespeare really make a very effective team as they compliment each other well, making up the shortfall in each other. One without the other would have a big impact. We all thought we'd cracked it with Gracia, only to see it fall apart once more. Even with Pearson, after a fantastic first 6 games, the wheels seemed to have come off until the Liverpool game. So we can never be 100% sure of how it's going to go with the coach we have now. I'm hoping we keep him and his management team, as I think the marriage is mutually beneficial. It seems to be a good fit. If we stay up this season, it will be because we've had a very good second half of the season, which would be a first for Watford in the Premier League. This will have a positive impact going into next season as well. We have always ended on a downer which stays over the summer and the thought of a new season seems quite tedious. If we stay up this season, then by default, form would have been good so the thought of new season could be seen as exciting.
Perfectly put. Completely different team when they've started. Was not a fan of Kiko at all but since Pearson has arrived he's been different class. I put the stats on from when Pearson started and Sarr played from the start and its astonishing.
