Gomes will start, should be Bachmann. Holebas may play but don't think any of the other usual suspects will play in defence, i have no idea. Midfield of Chalobah, Quina, Whelan and attack of Gray, Success and Everton.

Think Big Chris scored the winner in a 1-0 win in extra time with a mishit ? His last goal for us ?

I think that this is close. Not sure what NP will do for defence, but all the centre backs need rest (except perhaps Dawson).

    Probably:
    Gomes
    Youngster Dawson Youngster Holebas
Chalobah (although resting him might not be a bad idea either) Quina, Whelan/Hungbo/etc.
    Gray, Success, Cassidy/Dalby/etc..

Managed to boot the ball into his face from a yard out. Great goal.

Didn’t we make 11 changes v Woking last year?

We won comfortably, so would do the same against a team in the Johnstone’s Paint non league northeast.

Tough one this, Tranmere won their last FA Cup tie, we lost ours heavily so they're the form team in this competition.

If we continue to have a conveyor belt of young Brazilian talent I am happy for Gomes to stay on the payroll for decades.....

Do I go tomorrow? I somehow injured my foot a few days ago, and resting it appeared to make it better. Then I went to the Wolves game and it has been agony today. I think maybe as the ibuprofen kicked in when we scored our two goals so I was jumping around.

I’m planning taxis to the ground and find a seat where I don’t need to stand up (I’m assuming I won’t get so excited for this game as if we lose we can focus on the league).

As long as that’s all it is I agree, but I don’t want to see two young goalkeepers’ careers actively stall any longer.

Before he retired a work colleague and Tranmere supporter explained how he used to sponsor the nearest Tranmere home game to his birthday. It only cost a couple of £hundred and sounded like a great way to celebrate the day. I only mention this in case he is reading this, and I can wish a happy new year, and hope Tranmere get absolutely humiliated, and it is a miserable day for their supporters.

He deserves a final send off. Just let this be the third final one of his 2020 final send off tour.

I think our second string team should be enough to beat Tranmere and kick start another glorious cup run, hopefully when we get to the final this time we actually turn up.

It's going to be emotional having to contemplate what we're going do without Gomes in our team for the next three weeks until the 4th Round.

    Injury update:-

    Ben Dinnery‏Verified account @BenDinnery 10m10 minutes ago
The extent of the injury sustained by Femenía is not yet known. Cleverley, Janmaat, Pr*dl & Welbeck are definitely out, although the latter is making good progress. “He's [training] outside more or less one to one [with a member of the strength and conditioning team]."

It seems that a lot of the under-23s will be involved.

Based in part on that video (and at least from who I recognised), my guess would be:

    GK (??),
Barrett, Mariappa, Spencer-Adams, ??Green/Gordon(though didn't spot either in twitter vid)
    Hungbo, Dele-Bashiru, Quina, Pereyra
    Gray, Success

    Bench:
    GK??
    Balogun
    Whelan
    Hinds
    JP
    Dalby
    ??

Dawson is only back from injury, he should play as should Mariappa particularly as Kabasele is banned for the Muff game next week. This is also Quina's chance to show Pearson what he's made of plus we need to get Pedro some match time, even if it's 30 mins off the bench.
