Palarce on good form and we restricted them to hardly anything. Not a good result points wise but the performance was there.
He’s supposed to be a premier league striker. He’s paid to put the ball in the net, it doesn’t matter the circumstances, that bit at the end which he fluffed is the important bit.
According to the commentary he took a swing at Capoue near the end, he missed though so sadly no Zaha red card
I think he means it’s not VAR, it’s the officials? The ref and the people watching VAR, as it’s the hairdressers responsibility to make sure the scissors are good. Either way we get shafted again.
Some home truths from Kabs: "The spirit was fantastic today but we did not create enough chances to score. When you see our position in the league it is a shame. In our situation, we need to work every day at the training ground and we are looking forward [to meeting Nigel Pearson]. "It is not easy to change a manager three times in a season, but we have to be responsible. You can change the manager 100 times bu if the players do not do the job we will never get out of the relegation zone."
Gutted for Mullins. Deserved the three points. Obviously the players have reacted well under his guidance. We are just getting no luck in front of goal. At the very least we saw some fight and passion. A real baptism of fire for Pearson next week just want to see the same pride and effort shown today.
if we hadn’t been so **** all year would have been an ok performance Foster good, no theatrics Masina solid for most of the match Cathcart good kabs good ish , but distribution up to Deeney well off Kiko thought he looked alright - but am sure I am wrong Capoue kept fowling Zaha so a thumbs up from me Doucs - not sure looked better! but that wouldn't be hard Gerry and Bobby - nice little flicks and touches Deeney , some useful flicks on , nearly came to something and should have had a penalty Sarr - class , very fast and instinctive - shame he wasn’t available at the start of the year subs bad Gray was **** , fluffed all of his chances, looks much better with Bobby on the pitch Challobah seemed more interested in a fight that football I think if we score a couple it will come back, however also think it will be too late
Deeney brings a lot more to this side than just trying to score. Neither is he match sharp or fit yet but as usual lets all jump on our own players. Agree Deeney did the Deeney thing, was a waste of rations for the last half hour but might have won a penalty that no one else could have. Sent from my ONEPLUS A5010 using Tapatalk
This kid has got the palace fans on strings. It’s HH all over again. They really don’t like little Wilf getting smashed by us. https://mobile.twitter.com/LKenz/status/1203359079802056704
It’s good to know that he’s got so little on on a Saturday afternoon that he watched Watford v Palace on a hooky stream. Or he’s a sad lying ****. Could be either.
They seemed to have a bit more spark about them today. There was a bit more of a go at them, attack attitude. I say give the new man a chance to work on their heads before condemning any.
Fair play to Kiko, I thought he'd get bummed today but he handled Zaha really well. Deeney creates space for the wingers to be able to get on the ball, he doesn't deserve the stick BUT he does need to start posing a bit more of a goal threat. Deuolofeu is so selfish and should never take a free kick again, the one at the end was just appalling. Made me miss Holebas. Our set-piece delivery still just baffles me, must be the easiest thing to work on in training no? Sarr was brilliant and looked every penny of the reported £40 million. He caused Schlupp so many problems he had to come off at half time. That cross at the end was so good, just a shame Gray has the composure and touch of a donkey. Much, much better performance all round. A team to be proud of today for once. Plenty of fight and desire. Some poor game management at times, build up pressure, pen them back and then commit a silly foul and let them out. Weird. No idea why Martin Atkinson didn't even use VAR once. There was a two hand push on Sarr, Deeney strangled and something on Sarr in the tangle right at the end. It would be so Watford to be the only team to go and beat Liverpool next week
I would hope so to replace Giraldi. One can only hope. However will Gino now change the model of player recruitment. It does seem doubtful. But it must change because it has not worked out too well for previous incumbents and Pearson will want some of his own players in and Walsh would be advising him no doubt.
The diary of Mr Tumble aged 7& 3/4 Played at horrid Watford today. They're beastly towards me and call me names. They don't like it when I do my little falls and I want to cry. I keep throwing my arms up in the air and flashing my teeth but it doesn't work. Please can I go to Chelsea.
Also, Zaha was a very lucky boy. Straight after his yellow, he sarcastically clapped the ref but Atkinson had just turned his back. If he had seen that, a second yellow would've followed instantly.
True! I just picked him on his lack of any insight purely to have a dig. But it does seem unlikely someone would search out a stream for this game if they didn’t support Watford or palace
it would also be so Watford next week to lose 6/7/8-0 and be the laughing stock once again of the league.
There are many things that would be ‘so Watford’, and this is not one of them! Our only hope next week is that freak results do happen in football.
He does that a lot and pretty much always gets away with it. If I was a ref it would be a straight yellow for disrespect. But then if I was a ref I would want to use VAR to get the right decision and not just back up my decision... so that is flawed logic on my behalf.
im not sure , was watching on TV so didnt have the luxury of seeing what he was doing off the ball, however he was getting the ball to the feet of Sarr, Gerry and Bobby a lot , we had a few knocks on from Deeney that could have resulted in goals. I also think he was keeping the team in check , could see him bollocking kabs on a number of occasions. I’m not Deeney’s biggest fan, and think we could replace with better , but fairs fair he does bring something to the team
I feel Pearson might use Deeney as an outlet in games from now on too. Whatever he says during a game will be translated by Deeney to the players on the pitch. Whether or not it will communicate successfully is another matter.
Liverpool away on Tuesday night in a must win game for them to go through to the last 16 of the CL. Hopefully they pick up some knocks and injuries. They are due a poor performance in the Prem and hopefully it is against us.
We need a 1999 performance from us. But they missed a lot of chances that day as well. Mooney!! Mooney!!!
