No team ever survived in premier league with 3 different perm managers/head coaches in one season. Can’t see it changing if rumours true of being another unknown from the continent. As much as I’d dislike fat Sam he’s got prem experience and that’s what’s needed if pulis got the job I’m sorry might be a bomb fire of watford memorabilia in my back yard.

Well we did show intent during the second half against Arsenal. But as like do many managers they're stubborn MF who always believe they know best. If we would of gone after teams and still lost then that's a different matter. We played boring negative s h I t and still lost.

This can't happen soon enough. An appointment that bemused everyone apart from that obese ****** Garth Crooks.

Yes we needed to stop letting goals in, but to go back to a man that bored people to actual tears and is clearly lazy in the way he runs a team, was insane.

All in all, I'd rather we stuck with Gracia, who at least wanted the team to perform and do well.

As it stands, Flores seems to have spread his malaise through the squad and tranquilize those players that looked up for it before he came in.

    An incredibly bad decision.

SSN now claiming his future is ‘hanging by a thread’. I dare say that is being reported due to their ties with Leventhal. But I think it would be odd now if he suddenly was kept on.

I think it’s too widely reported now for it to be anything other than his sacking. Decent guy - I don’t have anything bad to say about his person and it’s clear he has an affinity with the club. Just sad it’s ended this way again, and that in reality, it was all too predictable in hindsight. Some correctly called it, and others (like myself) lived in hope.
As I’ve said above, my real fear now is that we don’t do the semi-restructuring I think we need to progress, and rather we appoint another ‘who?’ and tread water making the same mistakes.

I take no pleasure in calling it. I’d honestly much rather be wrong and that Flores to have worked out.

But whoever comes in knows it’s a quick fix and immediate remedy required. No pre-season, no getting to know the players, no easing yourself in. He has to hit the ground running immediately.

It’s going to be extremely difficult to get someone who will believe he will be given time to do anything other than firefight.

We need a quality coach who will really make a big difference. A tough guy that will take no sh1t. Nice chaps who players like need not apply.

Not sure there is an abundance of those. I’d like to see a big name, who everyone respects, come in and shake some start dust around. I think thats all it needs. A big name, on a short term high reward salary.

I'm a bit fed up with the squad really. Player power seems to take advantage of soft hearted managers (Zola, QSF, Gracia) and undermine tougher nuts as they don't like the discipline or hard truth (Sannino, Mazzari).

GT brought in old hands used to winning titles like Pat Rice and Brian Talbot to set standards.

The Pozzo era hasn't had any player like that staying around - we've a few reformed bad boys and big club rejects but no fecker that's actually won much consistently. Maybe party boy Tom Cleverley.

They so deserve Roy Keane to come in as manager with some home truths and high standards.

It'll never happen but it'd be highly amusing.

Out of the dinosaur managers Pulis, curbishley fat Sam Pardew Hughes moyes martin O’Neil I wouldn’t be excited by any of them. Roy Keane could be interesting I’d rather give Tim Sherwood a pop at it as he’s a connection to the club. **** it give it Luther

I thought qsf could have been a smart appointment.

Stop the defense conceding 3 goals a game, then utilise our greater attacking threat (than was available last time) to transition to hit teams on the break. He knew the club too.

    How wrong I was

I'd love it if we were in for Marcelino, not least for the moment Deeney does a google search for him and reads this line from a Guardian article from 2017 - "Marcelino García Toral, Valencia’s new manager, has a reputation for obsessing over weight and physical condition. A pioneer, even now when professional football is catching up with him, every detail controlled, tests conducted daily, weight pinned on notice boards at training grounds worldwide, he goes further. He is so strict that stories circulate of players starving themselves or starting the day in the sauna, scared of arriving a gram overweight."

Pearson would be an interesting option with an eye on the championship next season. Let him oversee a medium term clear out and rebuild over 3 seasons.

So I log on this morning, go straight to a thread which says the manager has been sacked in capitals, and find out he hasn’t in fact been sacked?

It’s a very appealing job for any of the journeymen managers. The potential in the squad is there for a ‘great escape’

    - Moyes
    - Big Sam
    - Colin
    - Pearson
    - Hughes
    - Hughton

Chris Hughton could be a good shout. For a start it's realistic that he might come. He has Premier League experience and is well respected in the game. If we go down as we all expect then he also has Championship experience so would know what is needed. The time with the players this season would not be wasted and he could assess who to ship out?

Omg which other hopeless, proven no mark are we gonna suggest to each other? At least with the actual appointment, few of us will have witnessed his mediocrity first hand so there might be a semblance of hope for a miracle.

The fact is, however, we are in need of a miracle worker and miracle workers aren't out of a job and waiting for a phone call for a middling salary on 1st December.

Brighton fans were bored rigid of Hughton and his tactics - he didn’t adapt and played the same
    ‘Favourites’ every week.

Can’t see the point in hiring someone like that given the outcries from our fans this season over similar issues.

I don’t want him - but if we are shooting for a manager who will ‘crack some skulls together’ and has a good Championship record, I’d sooner bring back Jokanovic than hire some of the names above (Hughton, Pearson...)

We all know it will be an unattached Spaniard or Italian. The deal is likely already done and was last week...

Same as that. I didn't expect QSF to set the world alight but though he would at least stabilise things and get use to 40 points when the club could think again next summer.

The problem is our defence is so bad the big JC himself couldn't produce a miracle and make it functional. I can't see anyone coming in and fixing it.
