It's actually you who are basing everything with the advantage of hindsight, which is the exact same comment you've levelled at me.

Although you're incorrect when you say I'm basing everything on things that have happened. Sheff Utd at home, was a far easier task potentially than Man City away or Wolves away. Yet the systems and formation Flores used were in complete contrast and opposite to what he should have done. You don't need a crystal ball or the benefit of hindsight to come to that conclusion.

I think it's fair to say, he got it completely wrong for City, Wolves and Sheff Utd. The formations did not maximise our chances of reducing the score line or give us the best possible chance of winning.

Flores has now settled on 5 at the back with 2 DMF's for every game. This is his policy. Ok, it will work well away from home and I expect we'll be a lot stronger in our away games because of it, but it's not a formation for home. This is where his way will come unstuck and we'll continue to drop points against beatable sides unless we are on the front foot in the home games.

Based on how things have been going Sheff Utd at home is just as difficult as Wolves away this season, if not actually much more so.

And what part of Sheffield Utd are unbeaten away from home this season do you not understand?

They are only unbeaten away from home because we DIDN'T beat them. What part of that don't YOU understand?

The way people talk about Sheff Utd is they are some great footballing super power. I take it you didn't go to the game? On the day they were very ordinary and we should have beaten them and would have if we had decided to attack them.....IMO.

Well, that game, and several other away games where they’ve yet to taste defeat, but carry on.

It's irrelevant how well they've done in games since our match. It has no bearing on how we should have set up to play them in the first place.

It's a typical forum tactic to throw in something that's happened since the Sheff Utd to enhance your POV.

You can only judge Sheff Utd on the game they played against us. They were actually quite poor on the day. They made three basic mistakes that should have ensured they lost 3-0. It was not because we pressed them into errors, they just handed them on a plate to us, without us doing anything to cause those mistakes.

Clearly they must have played better in other games, as no way would they have the points total if the Watford match was a typical one for them. But you cannot say just because they are unbeaten away from home and expect that's an argument winner. They wouldn't be unbeaten had we beaten would they?

It's like saying they lost 0-1 at home to Southampton, so they must be sh1t. We won 2-0 away at Norwich, a team Man City lost to. Means nothing.

Amazed this argument is still going on. The Sheff Utd game was awful. The boos at the end were deafening and the disgruntlement among the fans walking out the ground was as noticeable as I've seen it in years.

Like most football crowds, which all have a slightly unfair reputation for kneejerk reactions, Watford fans are actually pretty fair when it comes to it. If they've seen the team put the right effort in, the coach set them up right, and they know the opposition have been given a game, then the result often won't correlate with the reaction.

The reason the reaction was so poor to this supposed miraculous home draw against unbeaten away specialists Sheff Utd is because we were *****. And they were dire too. They offered zero threat all game but we just sat off them. It was pathetic and they were there for the beating and the fans knew it. The fact they've done well in other games has nothing to do with it.

You said that because of the way Sheff Utd played on the day we should have attacked them more. All I've said is in games before that they had showed they were a decent side. Yours is hindsight, mine is a fact. I've also said before that City was his second game and was still working out what the best formation to play would be. Wolves we actually were not that bad, the own goal is just bad luck but after those games he decided that to give ourselves the best possibility of winning games was to shore up the defence. As has been stated by many, the tactics were spot on, we stopped Sheff Utd creating anything and only dreadful finishing stopped us from winning which he cannot do anything about.
I now think he has changed it slightly that allows us to remain compact but still able to press.

Actually it does have something to do with it because we would have watched them before they played us and would have noticed how they play and big part would have been, they are very tight defensively so it's vital we don't concede as it will be very difficult from there on in. It was pretty awful to watch but on the flip side, West Ham was actually far better to watch and we lost 3-1.

Ok. Can we move on from a game that was a month ago and maybe talk about the next game? I suspect the Burnley game will be a worse match than Sheff Utd!

Spurs have sacked Pochettino. Wowzers. Not even billed as a mutual agreement or parting of ways,

It’s similar to us sacking Gracia though. A cup run masking a bad run and decline in form.

As is generally the case with these things, majority of spurs fans agree and the rest of the world think it’s absurd.

Very similar to us sacking Gracia, in fact Spurs have only managed 4 more points than us from the last 24 PL games!

    Bournemouth: 28
    Burnley: 28
    Tottenham Hotspur: 25
    Brighton: 24
    Southampton: 23
    Watford: 21

It's actually surprising it took them so long, considering where they would expect to be compared to us.

I had no idea it was actually that bad, just reading some of the comments on Twitter it was eerily similar, loads of fans saying the wheels fell off in February and the CL final masked it all.

For anybody that isn’t a Spurs fan they’ll just view it at such a high level it will seem like a mad decision, but as ever scratch the surface and the truth is almost always more supportive of the outcome.

Spuds have looked much better, Spam are awful. Their goal keeper is looking shell shocked, I would swap him at HT personally.
Could be a cricket score second half otherwise. Maureen has started his honeymoon period well it seems.

A sudden big shift on the next manager to be sacked. All of a sudden Unai Emery has gone odds on favourite.

Liverpool cruising, Gravel Head losing, Maureen winning... none of these scores or results affect us - we just get the slight advantage of playing first, however of an advantage that turns out to be.

I do think our point against them caught them on an off day. Chris Wilder doing a great job it has to be said.
