Said it for ages. The guy is hopeless. Offers absolutely nothing to the team. Success was on the bench, if he's fit enough for that he's fit enough to play.
I'd have played Success over Gray. Success isn't very good at much but at least he can function as a target for the out ball and help the team get up the pitch, and increase the chance of Del or Pereyra making something happen off a second ball.
Its why we signed Welbeck and even Sarr as extra attacking players/strikers - just a shame one is injured prone and the other not able to settle. Kind of sums up why we are at the bottom. 2 keys signings hardly made an impact.
World class finish from Gray tonight. He does some laughable things on a football pitch, but if he plays he will score his share of goals. His goal to game ratio last year was fabulous.
What on Earth are you smoking. World class! Maybe like the chip when he should of put Doucs in. He's hopeless. Got lucky with the finish which I'm thankful for, but again offers nothing.
He scores his share of goals when he plays. It was a quality finish. He did mess the chance up for a possible 3 0, but his goals to games ratio is impressive.
Exactly. We all agree he looks like a donkey, but if he gets service and quality balls played into him he is probably our best striker. I like Deeney, but don’t think he would have scored tonight
He adds little other than the goals but as long as his goal:minutes ratio stays good he has to be in the team or a regular call from the bench. We have no-one else who consistently scores. I thought GD was getting there but his run in the spring dried up as quickly as it began.
Where are all the goals he adds? Do you people remember how ineffective this person is. Tonight's was just blind luck. As I said I'm pleased but if you believe he's our best striker we'll sorry you know absolutely f all about football.
You've seen his goals per minutes on the pitch, they've been discussed plenty of times. Yes he's very limited but is our only consistent scorer.
Gray has much better goals per mins on the pitch. CD had that great spell for 4-5 games last season Inc Cardiff but his scoring stats either side are poor. He's a scorer of great goals rather than a great goalscorer.
At the end of the day we’ve got the players we have got. Delefeou is by far our best forward option but Gray is the best off the bench option we have. The good think about both Deeney and Gray is they are players that you want in a relegation fight. But given we are in our fifth PL season, it’s just disappointing that we haven’t managed to improve our quality in that area.
The thing is, normally I would be saying sell Gray in January and use that money to strengthen the side. However, because it looks more likely we'll be a Championship club next season, instead of a Premier League one, we'll need players like Gray. He's a good Championship striker and will be an asset in that league.
Gray has a goals to games ratio which is better than a lot of so called more accomplished strikers in the league. He is an instinctive striker, witnessed by his goal v norwich, when he has too much time that's when he tends to fluff his lines.
He doesn’t lack effort, nor application, but there’s no way he should be starting games for us, especially if it’s as a lone striker. We’re setting him up to fail in that instance. Perfectly happy for him to come from the bench when we need a goal, but as a starting option, he is so clearly lacking in the ability to contribute to our all-round game. We know what he is, and what he isn’t.
He is only just about good enough to be a bench sitter in the PL, he definitely should not be a 1st choice striker.
He's damned if he does or doesn't score on here by the usual suspects. He's got respectable stats.I think the main issue is that he is not such a good fit for this squad or our originally intended type & style of play. His work rate is unquestionable & that is an asset. If you sent him back to Burnley in a 442 & starting every week, I have little doubt you'd see him get 10-12 a season.
Well he got 9 goals playing in a 442 at Burnley the season before we signed him. And 3 of those were in one game against Sunderland. I think he's one of those players too good for the Championship but not quite good enough for the Premier League. We took a chance on him and I'm not sure it's paid off. But the fee we spent on him becomes more irrelevant every day because £18m is peanuts in the football world now.
Yep, utter, utter s h i t and a scummer and a homophobe to boot. It seems quite remarkable that people who purport to support Watford FC would defend such an obvious Trojan horse of a player, rather than have the interests of the club at heart and boo this puss filled canker out of the club.
Stubborn fan base that can't admit they're wrong/change their minds so dig their heels in. Not so evident on match day but seems to be the song to sing on this forum and social media.
I doubt we can link grot directly on this forum, but googling "celeb jihad leigh anne pinnock" should be enough to see her taters.
The moment for me of dreadful foreboding came early in the Burnley match when Feminia played in Gray down the right. Andre knocks the ball past Ben Mee and attempts to sprint past him. Mee easily wins. Game over. Andre simply isn't quick anymore. He's tried that repeatedly this season, I cannot remember him beating anybody? Sad and tragic.
Said this from the minute I first saw him play here. His one, redeeming quality was meant to be his "pace". He has none whatsoever.
