Was still there last time I visited Norwich, about 8 months ago. Correct name of course, Gardeners Arms.
I woke up in a really good mood...yay TGIF...then remembered we're playing tonight....my mood darkened.
We were talking about Waveney Terrace rather than the pub. An old hall of residence on the UEA campus. In which I stayed (mostly on an old mattress) during my first year. The uni. tried to charge me for the missing bed. I said someone must have nicked it so I bought an old mattress. Students eh?
Thems tasty odds for two misfiring teams desperate for any points. My concern is that if you bet on that itll increase the chances we lose
Some good odds for a low scoring game. Given both our recent stats that seems the most likely result logically surely. Then again is the thinking we are both such awful teams that itll be like a lower league clash and produce lots of goals?
I know that we're crap, and that we'd rather not be in the position, but a must win game under the lights on a Friday? This is class. Granted I expect we'll lose, but at least we've got the anticipation. Right? ... Right?
I think it's the latter more than anything. Both similar teams, both can sort of defend and can't score.
Not been this excited about a league game for a long time. This game is huge. People say it’s a early days blah blah blah but lose this we will still be bottom of the league and that is where we will stay. I think we will win this but it won’t be easy one bit. It’s going to be a tooth & nail job.
The only time I've been to Norwich for football it was a relegation battle. A very young Danny Rose had a 'mare' and was hooked, the place was packed and Norwich supporters surprised me: The place was rocking as they got fully behind their team. They won 1-0. I think we are in for a battle tonight and I wonder if we have the spirit to cope with such things. I'm still in the camp that claims there is a long way to go in this season and we are not down yet; but this is, nevertheless, a solid-gold six-pointer. Their crowd to get Norwich over the line any which way they can.
Always a strong atmosphere there. It's because the locals only have one team to support in the whole backwater that is Norfolk, so they're all right behind the team.
If you are driving definitely check The roads and leave plenty of time. There are loads of roadworks on the main routes around Norwich currently and there are very few alternative routes. There just aren’t many roads in Norfolk. on a Friday night the roadsystem will be absolutely rammed. it says on route finder it’s 2:45 Watford to Norwich - is double that easily
Yep I am nervous about this game more than I have been in many years so it’s good to get a bit of adrenaline going!
If QSF sets us up defensively and shows no ambition then Norwich will tear us a part. Their defensive is terrible and we have the players to hurt them. It’s a matter of whether QSF will let them loose. My guess is no, and we will slump to a 2-1 defeat. Just kidding, we’re going to smash this championship team full of part timers no one has heard of. 5-1 Watford
Foster Janmaat - Cathcart -- Kabasele --- Masina Doucoure ---- Chalobah ---- Capoue Deluofeu --- Sarr ---- Pereyra QSF, go out and rip the game from them. Gomes Gray Holebas Hughes Dawson Cleverley Gomes
Looks good to me, though I'd start Deeney for Sarr if fit. Sarr on as an impact sub later. It's the hope that kills you.
Apparently Troy's going to be in the squad. He believes he's fit, but Flores is inclined to be cautious. As ever. I'm dreading this game. Even if we somehow win it, and manage to beat Burnley, I can't see it making any difference to where we're heading under the current management. The way we set up, most teams in this division will have a comfortable game against us that they're very unlikely to lose. Unless there's an imminent change of head coach around the corner, all victory will do is confirm how likely Norwich are to rival us for bottom place. Losing or drawing will just be another painful twist of the knife in this torturous season. Any psychologists here? How can I rewire my brain to become a masochist? I desperately want to enjoy watching Watford again.
Anyone expecting 5 at the back Flores to change that tonight and do anything but play for a 0-0 is in for a rude awakening. We'll lose 1-0. Hopefully that's enough to get him the boot and we get someone in who has more to their tactics than completely parking the bus and hoofing long balls at 5'10, circus clown Andre Gray.
The fact that the club have been so open about the fact he's travelling probably means he won't play. Sarr definitely won't. I doubt any player who only returned to training this week will be risked.
Norwich have a key player back from long term injury like Troy . Probably score and MOTM whilst Deeney sits on the bench next to Sarr looking glum ... Or Deeney to come on and nick the winner - media world would go into overdrive if that happened .
Failure to win tonight should mean QSF is gone by monday. I couldn't care less how it happens, as long as it does.
