Big game this one... I’m bringing my 5 year old for his first ever game. In fact, it’ll be three generations of us, with me and my dad too. My dad came to his first game over 70 years ago (i’m told his mum worked at the ground) and I know how proud i’ll be to share the moment with them both. This is the very reason whenever and wherever I am, hearing Z-Cars or Chariots of Fire makes the hairs on my neck stand. Win, Lose, or Draw, I cant wait... we might be rubbish at the moment, but its bigger than that and always will be. COYH!
Nobody outside the relegation places has conceded more than Chelsea. I definitely think there's a chance that we could have a consolation goal to celebrate.
Best chicken in London is Jerk Chicken with rice and peas from Peppers and Spice on Balls Pond Road just before Dalston Junction (theres also one in Tottenham). Really no contest. At Nando's I always feel the chicken died in vain. At Peppers and Spice it's more like: this Chicken was born for this day!
Sounds good. I presume you've checked out all other competing outlets for 'best in London' though! Anyway, I'll be near there tomorrow lunchtime (Angel - 10 mins walk) so intend to check it out and report back.
There's usually a queue so factor that into your timetable. Also it's a good 30 mins walk from Angel tube. Enjoy the food =)
Time for QSF to pull out his patented 7-3-0 formation as we finish the game with 0 touches in the opposition half and 13% possession, losing 3-0
Jesus, I’d probably even rather attend the Vic for this game, than have to visit Dalston or Tottenham. And there’s no way I’m watching this insipid non-spectacle. The rugby is the only sporting event I’ll watch on Saturday. Win or lose, it will be better than anything Watford are capable of mustering this season. For the first time this season, I’m turning off my goal notifications for this one. It’s not worth draining my battery for the inevitable three or more goals we let in, despite having 10 defenders on the pitch. Moog, let us know what you think about Mary Poppins. It’ll be good to hear about something less obvious than our boring trudge to defeat with Quique at the helm.
Unfortunately I can't see anything other than an uninspiring narrow win. We won't look spectacular, but with our impenetrable defence the win is all but assured. It won't be a win to be celebrated. It will be dark, cold and rainy. We will trudge off into the night with the 3 points and still regret ever attending the match. Prediction Watford 8-1 Chelsea Hughes (12), Janmaat (22, 76), Pereyra (41), Capoue (66), Doucoure (68, 82, 90+3); Femenia (og 2) Drab.
Don't worry ! Success is fit - will he fire the goals to lead us to safety ? (We can all dream ..) https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...-watford-still-several-injuries-chelsea-game/
I'm actually glad Success is back, gives us a physical edge up front at last. Plus he dives so much he'll win us free kicks around the box which is the only way we're going to score.
Went there at lunchtime. Took 32 mins to walk as you'd suggested up the Essex Road. Nice day for it. And a queue out the door as you'd also suggested. What you didn't tell me was that it's only a carry-out though. So not exactly a Nando's substitute then! Would have been fine on the summer solstice but not on Halloween unless you live locally. Anyway, I had a decent pasta at a joint called The Bite just around the corner in the Kingsland Road.
A team that scores a lot but let’s in a lot versus a team that doesn’t score any and let’s in a few. Tricky one to call eh.
Is this the law of averages at play again? As in we haven't scored a direct free kick since St Almen of Abdi against Villa in April 2016, therefore the law of averages suggests we must be due one soon.
law of averages dictates that we’ve been playing too much abysmal directionless football that we’ll play incredibly against Chelsea and win 21-0.
We are due lots of wins. We were due a win last week.....and the week before.....and the week before......and......
Does that mean we'd then need to lose to Naaarich ? I'd prefer to use up the victory against Naaarich if so....
I've been waiting for your review with baited breath. This is as big a let down as a Watford match day. Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
The best we can really hope for realistically is 0-0 and I think Chelsea will have too much in attack for us to keep out.
