I’d be amazed if that’s not the case.

The plan seemed to be to get as many men behind the ball as possible and when we win it, punt it upfield and hope somebody chases after it.

Will Joao Pedro be our saviour, work permit or Portuguese relatives allowing. He seems to be made of tougher stuff than Sarr and has bags of confidence right now.
Sarr may come good, but he needs time and Watford do not have that luxury.
I can only see 1 point being gained from the next 3 games.
I said that we could be down before the snow arrives. We are at 1,177m and it is getting colder. Not long now ❄❄❄

I think we’ve really mismanaged his introduction to the side. I wonder if we’d have been better served throwing him in right away and letting a mixture of adrenaline and eagerness, plus a supportive and excited crowd to see him through. Basically what we did with Richarlison, who was backed to just go out there and play with freedom.

As it is, he’s been coming into a team that’s completely lacking any confidence, energy, devoid of inspiration. I can’t help but think the malaise around our season has had a hugely negative impact on him.

He’s looked nothing like the player I saw 4 or 5 times last year for Rennes.

I think to get the best out of Sarr we would have to utilise his speed. Expecting him to play as a striker won’t do that; he needs to be on the wing, or at least cutting in from a wide forward position. If we are to follow the wing back system we played today I can’t see how he fits in the team.

How many games has he had?

He's really a winger, but comes on today while we have no strikers on the pitch, and we are punting high balls forward.

Not a perfect situation for him to impress.

    Easy to counter this one.

Just sign up Poch to replace QSF.

I guess they might lose a game on the road - we might win one anywhere !!

True they looked a bit lacklustre up front but we look it all over the pitch at times .

He’s not the man for the moment when Foster & co have made him the target for goal kicks and punts upfield like he’s Deeney? Couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

It still amazes me that Cathcart makes a 10 yard forward pass in a straight line look so difficult with such regularity. It’s an art honestly.

We kept a clean sheet today and had 2 unbelievable chances to score.

Not sure what else QSF can do from that.

First priority was to keep a clean sheet (the first since Feb 2nd).

That line up, formation and performance was classic 2014/15 season stuff and is exactly what we needed.

Seems like a solid place to start.

And I don't have to resign on Monday.

Just for the record the previous clean sheet in the league was actually on Feb 9th in the glorious 1-0 win over Everton, although we also won by the same score a week later in the Cup at QPR.

Just seen the 'highlights'. We had more chances than them. Tactics were clearly good as they never looked like scoring. Grays miss was awful. I genuinely think the majority of our fans would have scored that. I don't blame Welbeck for shooting, he was one on one. Still should have scored though. Lovely free-kick by Delia to give Dawson his chance. Great save by the keeper though. Bournemouth now becomes a genuine must win game. No way can we go 11 games without a win and survive.

The story according to a spud I know, the problem is one player shagged another player's wife, which led to a fight, Kane punched someone, and the whole squad is now fractured. Not sure how a new manager fixes that.

I was thinking about who would leave if we went down. I don’t think Capoue, Gray, Welbeck or possibly Pedro would leave. Not sure how we get enough money from anybody for Sarr! Delefeou and Doucoure would definitely leave, Doucoure to Aldershot based on yesterday’s performance.

I’m not going to it was great yesterday as it clearly wasn’t but we have to start somewhere in making us hard to beat. Forget that Sheff Utd were promoted last season, they are proving hard to beat. But for a glaring error from the keeper, they would have drawn against Liverpool and they went to Everton and won 2-0. They are not the whipping boys that many thought they would be.
Many have complained, quite rightly, about the goals we are conceding so QSF sets us up to be more defensive and to play on the break and had the strikers done their job it would have worked. Sheff Utd barely had a sniff at goal but had a lot of possession but that means nothing if you do very little with it. Look at our stats from Wolves, we had the majority of the play, the shots etc but never looked like winning.
We are deep in the mire so people may need to get used to us not having the ball if it makes us hard to beat.
Am I happy with a point? No, but I can see what are trying to achieve, we only needed one goal to win a match yesterday whereas in recent weeks we needed 3 or 4 or even 9 to win so something had to change.

Thing is, 6 months ago we all were worried we would lose some of our best players to big bids in the summer. Now I can't think of a single player out of them I'd be bothered to see the back of.

They're all utterly dispensable, and massively devalued.

Gino has spent 7 years building up to this and now will probably lose 10s of millions in transfer fees plus at least 1 season of premier league riches, all because he arrogantly assumed he could ignore basic flaws in the squad.

There’s a bald, gobby git in LGT3 thinking he’s Pep but only shouting abuse towards the team/board.

At one point in the second half he bellowed at Janmaat that he’s ******* ****, an embarrassment or something or other. Now, whether Janmaat should’ve turned around and gave something back as he appeared to do is another question but ******* hell mate, if you’re doing that 8 games into this season, you’re the embarrassment and will probably end up with an aneurysm.

Also - leaving early and walking up the stairs looking up to Duxbury who I’m sure you can’t see and he can’t hear you, telling him to “sort this **** out” isn’t gonna help you or anyone. Christ.

Things do not look great right now, they really don’t. But the amount of times we’ve seen a negative toxic atmosphere fester at clubs from the fans can be devastating to a teams survival chances in our position. We need to get behind the lads for 90 minutes at home in particular, if after the final whistle there’s a lack of effort or whatever then fine, let your feelings be heard.

But I’m sure Palace 2 years ago and Newcastle last season backed Hodgson & Benítez respectively and clawed their way out after 10 games without a win each. Sunderland and Villa fans were a ******* embarrassment along with their players and deserved to go down bottom between the both of them.

I think what’s important is building up a run of not losing. It’s highly unlikely we will beat Bournemouth, but each draw gives us something to build on.

Without question we could have won yesterday, so we keep drawing we can keep believing the next one we will.

If we can develop a system that makes us harder to beat then we will have a chance to overtake the newly promoted clubs (maybe not Villa) as they run out of steam. Then it’s us against one other.

Isn’t that exactly what happened? Atmosphere felt okay if a bit nervous during the game and then some fans booed at the end.

The Pozzos would just shift Doucoure, Pereya, Sarr, etc to Udinese for a season. Then move them back if we get promoted. If we fail to get promoted they sell them in the summer after a season in Serie A

Think there was about a 2 minute period of support around 70 and 90 mins. Other than that completely silent. Again, baring in mind I sit in LRS3 on the halfway line could only hear the SUFC supporters throughout.

While I thought we had to win yesterday; until I looked at the table, I had no realised that in eight games Sheffield United have only conceded seven goals. Even if you take into account the Man City result, we have let in 20, nearly three times as many. If we get to the end of the season with a goals against Of under 50 I will be happy. If that happened it would probably mean that we found a way to avoid relegation.
