It was a bottle job. Simple as that. No leadership. No one taking responsibility. Weak mentality before a ball was kicked. I suspect the Cup Final defeat weighed on many of the players mind. It was always going to be a test of character, playing City after the Cup Final, and they answered that test with some aplomb

I do find that decision incredibly odd. It was a strange team selection

He probably picked those who put their hands up to play on Saturday morning. Foster said yes because he wanted Aguero's shirt. Foulquier won a competition. The others probably played rock paper scissors or conkers to decide.

I think the team spirit thing comes down
There’s not one member of that so called ‘leadership’ group who should be in the First XI at present.

A very weak squad full of players who aren't quite as good as they think they are. You get labelled as an old man if you want players to run hard and demand higher standards of others but the truth is that hardwork needs to be the basis of everything they do. I see people younger than me having wet dreams after yet another Geri bit of magic that comes to absolutely nothing yet again other than relinquishing possession, but then moan and grumble if a defender wins a ball and hits a channel "who was that to!" - that part is down to the next generation of fans.

If we went down I suspect 90% of the squad would look for a move, if not more. So if we go down, no biggy to them.

I for one would be absolutely delighted to get back in the championship and be rid of a lot of our current squad.

Me too, actually looking forward to it. The championship is the best league in the world, competitive games, hungry players and decent football. Sorry but that's my view, I sometimes go and see my local League one side and actually admire the workrate, desire to play and respect for the shirt. Then I come down to the Vic and despair. I've been supporting Watford since 1971 and this is about as bad as it's ever been.

Our players will not be hungry in the championship. Not unless we get rid of at least half of the current squad.

    It’s a real mess.

I had a long, long debate in a group whatsapp chat yesterday and was largely rounded upon. My view is the PL isn't competitive. The top two places are sewn up and so are the next four places. The top 6 has been the same for three seasons running. Getting walloped by a big six club is dull. In the championship you can get something from each game and each game is therefore competitive. One response I got was 'the premier league is competitive but Watford aren't' - that came from a Liverpool fan who never goes to a game. My response that 'Watford are part of the premier league and it isn't a six team league' stumped him.

It seems if you are a match going fan it is a dull league. If you are a TV viewer it is brilliant. I work with a Villa fan who tells me he was gutted when they got relegated, but he was sadder still when they went back up having realised just how fun the championship is.

I was 4 down in 5 minutes once playing for Amersham Town u18’s. We lost 21-2 so it could of been worse!

I think I was playing in midfield but I can probably take the blame for one of the 21

Did you apologise to the mums and dads watching afterwards and donate your half time orange segment to charity?

Its our worst defeat ever caused by players that arent willing to fight for the shirt anymore. Relegation then major overhaul needed, get rid of the deadwood.

But who would want them?, surely there wouldn’t be any premiership teams that would want relegated players would there?
    Oh wait a minute!

I'll be honest we probably were not taking it seriously at the end. I think the oranges went to the local school

Amazing to think this same squad was looking at 7th place in March.
