Today Gracia's odds for the sack have moved to 1/2 on!! https://www.thesackrace.com/next-premier-league-manager-to-leave 2/5 on with SkyBet also. https://m.skybet.com/football/manager-specials/event/24312956 These are moving now, so if this is anything to go by, looks like there could be something in it? The same thing happened when we signed Welbeck...….odds shortened massively just before we signed him.
Just betting companies trying to get gullible people to bet on something that is not going to happen. If we were going to sack him, we would have done it by now and given the new coach the whole two weeks of international break to meet the squad and implement his tactics. We’re organized like that.
Unless they have been trying to secure the agreement of an incoming coach before letting Gracia go... Or they may have observed training all week and seen the same motions being gone through or preparations that have failed us so far being undertaken... I agree it’s unlikely. But not unthinkable.
Would be slightly bizarre timing to make a change now, not that it would necessarily be the wrong decision. We would've lost a week or so of possible training time under a new manager. Aren't manager markets particularly volatile too? Sure it's been discussed on here before, it only takes one not overly large bet to skew a market like that. Guess we'll have to see.
More movements across the board. All the blues are next to Gracia's name. https://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/next-manager-to-leave-post
Which suggests that maybe it’s not Javi stubbornly refusing to pick them, but the medical staff telling him they’re not ready to start. Still doesn’t excuse not using either at Newcastle.
A 'sauce' has just suggested to me that Javi's offski and QSF may be returning. Same 'sauce' that gave me Okaka's offski a few hours before it appeared on here.
https://twitter.com/JNorthcroft/status/1170359024866484225 "Hearing that Javi Gracia is on the brink at Watford...and they want to bring Quique Sanchez Flores back to replace him." Uh-huh. Sure.
There's something going on for sure. All the odds have gone blue again just now...….with odds of 1/7 on, with SkyBet and others. https://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/next-manager-to-leave-post It's going crazy......odds have dropped again in the last few minutes.
Damn. Surprised the club waited all week to make a change. It was coming, but I can’t help but feel rather sad it ended this way. Always conducted himself with dignity, but ultimately paid the price for stubbornness and inability to adapt once teams had worked us out. This managerial appointment is absolutely huge, now. Gino has to get it right.
I'm optimistic that he will get the defence sorted, but also trying to forget performances like the cup semi final, where we fiercely defended a 1-0 deficit. Maybe we should have gone for a QSF, JG dream team? One thing I will say, Javi leaves with no ill will from me. Good luck to the gnome faced simpleton.
Gino appointing one of our ex-head coaches gives me hope that one day may see Jokanovic back at the club.
Why did the pozzo's not dismiss Gracia in the summer? Did they not discuss tactics during the summer or weak areas of the squad that needed addressing? If Hughes scores at home to West ham and we win and the VAR decisions go our way I am convinced that Gracia would still be in charge. Appointing QSF is a joke - our defence is worse than it was last time and although he was popular with the players the style of football was appalling for half a season. Playing Abdi as a winger, sticking with Jurado for an entire season? It is as if the Pozzo's are saying - 'yeah we made mistakes with our defence recruitment, we are now in a relegation battle because of it and we need a short term fix to protect our investment with Premier League status for next season.' QSF will almost certainly be gone by the end of the season and most neutrals will put us down for sacking our saviour - assuming we maintain our status.
No clean sheet in the league for 16 games now and 64 goals conceded in last 38 when we have picked up 39 points- that’s bottom 4 form and we have not been there before. Fantastic cup run up until the final but this glossed over the league form after the great 4 win start to last season No surprise
