Swansea was my last game at Vicarage Road. Dreadful occasion, although it was a pleasure to see Molla Wague in all of his glory. My last Watford game was the Cup Final. I think I might be cursed.
Couldn't remember that game so just looked it up and it's come flooding back. 2 goals conceded in the last 5 mins to lose 2-1, and looking at the line-ups I can't help feel that Silva was trying to get himself sacked by that point. Zeeglar, Okaka, Wague, Watson and Carrillo all started while Gray, Holebas, Prodl, Capoue and Pereyra were on the bench!
I remember Gray being through on goal at 1-0 late on, could've placed it either side or lifted it but smashed it straight at the keeper instead. They equalised about a minute later and he just stood shell shocked on the halfway line with his hands on his head as he knew he'd cost us three points. Then Zeegelaar had a brain fart and committed a needless foul, they lumped it in the box and it was 2-1. One of the very worst ends to a game I can recall.
I was sat in the corner right next to the Swansea fans with my dad. Horrific experience, my dad’s never returned.
Good memory. Question. Does it beat the following for worst end? Everton A 2-1 up lost 3-2 Or Palarse A 1 up tgen lost 2-1 Tough to choose...
Interesting to see George Byers. Scored in the Cup for them and an intelligent midfielder if a little slow but developing. Enough for the Swans to offer him a three year contract this summer. Dominic Ball played well at Aberdeen and is now at QPR with Mark Warburton. Andy Yiadom is a consistent enough performer for Reading and now a Ghanaian international.
By the way.. Moo Moo Cup was in relation to the old name for this competition. "The Milk Cup". Thank you @Smudger for changing it to a more relatable title. Appologies to anyone who was confused. Just a little bit of off set humor.
I trust Gino will stick with our cup goalkeeper and utilise the larger squad players. Swansea are on a good run and full of confidence after winning at Leeds. Must win game. 0-3.
77 !!!! Game was in blue & white ! We were in the old Main (East) Stand - the only time before all seating that I was ever in a stand.
For this match and the previous round I will not be / was not able to attend so maybe that is a positive sign?
After today who is seriously going to give us any chance? Swansea are no mugs at the moment and certainly above the level Coventry. Wholesale changes will no doubt happen and I bet you now they ALL play with more heart than those that played today did. Funny thing is, even if they play well and win, none of them will start against Wolves.
I fear we will see Janmaat, Masina, Quina, Bachmann, Welbeck etc for this one, only for them all to lose their places and the same losers to be back next Saturday. Sarr shining the bench.
Surely the gutless cowards from today must largely start before a large overhaul at Wolves. Otherwise we will have the simpering nonsense that Sarr/Quina/Janmaat can’t possibly play because they had a 70 minute trot in midweek.
2-0 to Swansea. Good young Manager on the up. They are playing with confidence. Something we sorely lack.
Evening under the lights. So excited. Bloody love football. We will smash em as we will be angry side! 1-3 Swansea
Wasn't this exactly the same defeatist nonsense that we've all been complaining about in the team yesterday?
