Anyone watching AEW All Out this Saturday?

I'm convinced CM Punk is debuting.

    What makes you so convinced?

Will be good to watch some wrestling after Loma V Campbell

    Far too many coincidences.

    - The fact he's working Starrcast, a wrestling convention heavily linked with (and rumoured to be partly funded by) AEW, in Chicago, the day of All Out.

    - I don't think Starrcast would have got Punk involved without AEW's blessing, and I don't think AEW would have given their blessing unless Punk was signed. It's created too much expectation and that would create too much disappointment if he's not at All Out.

    - Lots of little hints and back and forths on Twitter and Instagram from Punk, The Elite and others.

    - Punk going out of his way, 5 years removed from wrestling, to suddenly and randomly do what was basically a big, drawn out "I'm totally not ever coming back to wrestling" type interview with ESPN.

    - Tony Khan openly admitting he had Punk on his original wishlist for his roster, and they're also friends in real life.

    - Even all these things aside, money talks, and Khan and AEW have a huge amount to throw at Punk. It'd also stick it to WWE, which Punk would love.

    No smoke without fire.

I think it's more than worth it regardless. Bucks vs Lucha Bros ladder match and PAC vs Omega should be unreal, and seeing the first AEW World Champion crowned will be cool.

The promos and the way AEW are building feuds is just so, so good as well, and this is before TV has even started. They're building feuds better on YouTube than WWE is from 5 hours of TV.

Tony Schiavone signed now as well. So they have arguably the two most legendary commentators in wrestling history on the books.

Don't get the hype around CM Grump. Out of shape and phoning it in for a couple of years, bad mouthed a lot of other wrestlers and was treated better than most.

NXT UK Takeover Cardiff was excellent apart for the ladies championship match which seemed half arsed. I think they were peed off they only got 10 mins.

Seen the two buy ins but the cards just looked like matches of wrestlers I'd lost interest in. Hopefully I can get a bit invested should the weekly show turn up on ITV.

Really? Most of it is world class talent that hadn't had much exposure in the west before now. Omega, The Young Bucks, Lucha Bros, Hangman Page etc.

MJF will be the best heel in the industry within the next year as well.

Seen plenty of Lucha bros, prefer aerostar myself. Young bucks a bit meh. Jericho is past it.

As for the ladies, Allie was better as Cherry bomb, Laurel Van Ness was never a fan of. Martinez never really pulled up any trees in the matches I saw bugtgot massive crowd reaction. Do like Leva Bates though.

I am a fan of Dustin Rhodes, seen him live as Goldust and Black Reign. Enjoyed Cody's and Pac's work as well as Sean spears who was criminally under utilised once he graduated from NXT.

There wasn't enough on the card to get me to buy in. I did enjoy the pre show though and will watch a weekly if it hits ITV.

NXT is excellent but now Vince has his hands on it I'm worried.

I stumbled across MLW, which is free on YouTube and has Jim Cornette on colour commentary. And is only 1 hour long.

Better than WWE or AEW for what it is, but of course it isn't an apples to apples comparison as it is a much more modest offering.

AEW Dynamite finally kicks off tonight.

Can be watched on ITV Hub from 19:00 tomorrow and then will be shown on ITV 4 on Friday nights too.

By the way who watched RAW.

    Weird.
Don't get the Lana Rusev Lashly thing.
The Bliss/banks match was just strange

Looking forward to the draft to see who gets called up from NXT.
I'm hoping Velveteen dream, Street profits is pretty obvious and I'm thinking Shayna Bazsler can't do anything else there.

I shall take my custom elsewhere.

Think Sunday morning is a "highlights show" and will probably be heavily censored. AEW is TV-14 so there will be swearing, blood etc. which they won't be able to show at that time.

The on demand and Friday night ones will be the full show.

You may be right but it was slated for 2hrs Sun morn and there was a 50min show later also.
The guide can be a little off when accessing remotely especially when it's secondary channels like ITV4 so I'll check the on-demand stuff also.

With Smackdown moving to friday night and NXT not available until today I'll need something for tomorrow evening.

Think of it as a bloke's soap opera, mixed with a bit of choreography and non competitive sport.

    Watched it.
I'll give it a few more weeks but it was all a bit meh to be honest all seemed a bit lacklustre. LAX v3.0 introduction was all a bit rushed. Maybe I've missed all the social media stuff?

NXT still remains the best show at the moment in my opinion.

It was good, not perfect, but was miles ahead of anything Raw or Smackdown have done in years in my opinion, even if that's not saying much. Those two shows are just abysmal. NXT is too small time for me, I can't get invested in a show for developmental talent in a 500 seater venue, even if the match quality is decent. They're blowing their load with some of the match ups as well, in a desperate attempt to derail AEW's momentum.

LAX were first introduced at the All Out PPV at the end of August, and like you mentioned all the build etc. has been on YouTube until this point. Some stuff is on "Being the Elite", but all the proper stuff has been on the "Road to..." shows that they did leading into each PPV and then again leading into last weeks first TV episode.

I thought Dynamite had a great old school feel to it. The commentary was lightyears ahead of WWE's, the production values were great, it's TV-14 so they can get away with more in terms of language, violence etc. and the mayhem in the main event was just great fun.

It'll only get better in my opinion.

I'm not writing it off yet.

Raw and Smackdown I tend to take about 1/3 of the time to get through.
I've tried to avoid the spoilers for last night's Raw but got a feeling it's gonna be good viewing.

Don't write of NXT just because the crowd is small and smarky. There's some bloody good stuff going on there. I'm quite liking NXT UK as well.

Still keeping up to date online, and watching the odd WWE PPV. Think I might give Survivor Series a go for the Taker farewell (I hope he doesn't wrestle again, the Boneyard match was the perfect farewell IMO)

I've long since completely given up on WWE. Just can't stand how child oriented it is and there's such a lack of characters and people that it feels like are worth investing in there these days. Plus Vince McMahon is just a massive, massive c**t.

AEW is where it's at now. It's still a bit crap at times but it's at least a bit more adult focused and has some great characters and up and comers. A lot of the wrestlers feel so much more worth caring about and worth getting excited about. The commentary team of JR and Tony Schiavone is brilliantly nostalgic, as well.

Wardlow is the one to watch over the next couple of years. Going to be an absolute megastar. Vince will be fuming as well, he's his wet dream.

I started watching the Monday Night Wars documentary series just recently. Pretty enjoyable trip down memory lane to the glory years, although it gets a bit repetitive as so many of the characters and storylines were interlocked.

Wonderfully. The one thing they haven’t ruined yet. The story with Jey Uso was excellently done.

i still pay a passing interest to it, but with wwe things wont change unfortunately until vince gives up control. nxt is still pretty engaging and that gives me hope for the future. monday night raw is just an atrocity, so many poorly utilised wrestlers with the same old faces at the top week in week out (yes randy we're looking at you!) smackdown is actually legitimately the better show at the moment and has been really quite good since romans heel turn.

i like aew, but i dont like the fact that the womans division there feels so tacked on. there are some interesting characters, and jericho is still my all time favourite.

unfortunately the empty arena era does make all the shows feel somewhat lacking.

the best thing of 2020 across all the brands and shows has been reigns heel turn. fans have been waiting for it for such a long time, but he has the character to pull it off to perfection. his destruction and reconstruction of the usos in his own image is incredible.

This was so, so well done. Schiavone screaming "IT'S STIIIIING!!!" may be the most nostalgic and brilliant thing I've ever heard.
