The fog on the Tyne is all mine, all mine The fog on the Tyne is all mine. Well you’re welcome to it. I never wanted it in the first place, thank you very much. You can keep your dirty fog, on your smelly Tyne, but I would like 3 points please. Distracting as this little ditty is, it does, or possibly doesn’t, provide crucial insight for intrepid Horns who are brave enough to venture into the distant North East to support our boys dressed as jesters in yellow and black halves. For noble Newcastle, its fine culture and tradition, is a bit like the Chewbacca Defence in that it does not make sense. Best Fans in the World You'll know for sure that they're in town, when you hear those Geordies sing. I think I’d know for sure that they’re in town a long time before I heard them sing. I’d see this lot coming a mile off and scarper pronto. I get the whole if you’ve got it flaunt it, and I have to, with grudging admiration admit these guys have definitely got it. However, it's simply not acceptable for people from Hertfordshire to be exposed to this. We’re Watford and we’re proud to be a Family Club and ergo should not be subjected to hardcore pornography at a 21st century football match. It’s simply wrong. More to the point why on earth would any human being choose to act in this way? IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. History In my research into Newcastle history I came across the strange tale of the Female Muffin Man of Newcastle. Apparently it’s a true story of this young lass who used to dress up as a man and tried to sell her muffin to anyone who was willing to pay. Why would a young Geordie woman dress as a man to sell her muffin while Geordie men get their massive boobies out at the football? IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. Famous Supporters Newcastle’s most famous supporter is without a doubt Sid the Sexist: But why would any sane man denigrate women in the disgusting manner that Sid does? IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. But it’s not just Sydney the list of famous Newcastle fans is lengthy and includes the like of such luminaries as Mr Bean, Peter Beardsley, Wee Jimmy Krankie, Hilda of Whitby, Ant and Dec, Gazza – NONE OF THEM MAKE SENSE. Newcastle United Profile Newcastle were once a proper big and proud club. They have won four League Championship titles, six FA Cups and a Charity Shield, as well as the 1969 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup and the 2006 UEFA Intertoto Cup, the ninth highest total of trophies won by an English club. All of which must make it utterly humiliating that they now aspire to be on a par with crappy little clubs like Watford and Bournemouth. They don’t really have any hope either, their only chance of reliving past success is if local hero Mike Ashley sells up to a billionaire or oil rich state, however, this is unfortunately unlikely due to the location and circumstances of Newcastle. Newcastle did alright under Benitez and have the opportunity to consolidate in the promised land of the Premiership. However, greedy Benitez wanted money to spend on the team which was not forthcoming. So Ashley logically let Benitez go and instead gave Steve Bruce a load of money to spend. Steve Bruce? IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. The Big Match So who will prevail in what is already looking like a relegation 6 pointer? With Arse and Many City to follow I am not even sure a point will be good enough for us. As dire as things look at the moment there is one thing that gives me a sense of hope that our noble Horns will prevail and that one thing is Steve Bruce. I’ve had to post this preview stupidly early as I’m off on holiday tomorrow morning so who knows what the next week will have in store for WFC but one thing's for sure if we don’t win this game it will be mathematically impossible to stay up.
I do a proper post near the game, but they have a better defence we have a better attack. So 0-0 or 5-5 then.
Basement battle. It's not that 3 points here will make or break the season, but the last drop of pre-season hope is wrung out, to be replaced by misery an worry before we're out of August.
Cant see us improving too much from what's gone on before. Joelinton will have a field day with all those free headers in our box. 3-0 to the Geordies...…..
They can beat Spuds away. They can demolish our backline at their place. We really are rock bottom now. Still time to change it. How much of that time is Gracia's is in Gino's hands.
Beat Spurs alway. They will be licking their chops at our bunch of cowards turning up at St James. 2-0. Gracia then sacked.
Yes, Newcastle looked pretty impressive today. Kept their shape, defended well, worked for each other, plenty of commitment and defended well. But, Spurs looked very weak and didn't have much of a clue about breaking them down ... they all fall over too easily in the box, as they did last season. Anything could happen in this match - it'll be about our tactics, shape, desire and teamwork. If Gracia can't get this right then I don't know where we go ... even if he goes ...
Spurs defending for their goal was eerily as bad as ours has been recently. Acres of space for their forward between rose and their centre back.
ha ha ... nice one ... i'm going where we all go ... have been for far too many years ... the only other part of Hertfordshire I'll stray to is yellow and blue - and they are also bottom of the league!
Another 3-0 spanking as the Geordies have a party in the space behind our full backs leaving Craig and Craig floundering. Gracia tells anyone who will listen it was a good performance.
Of course Gracia won’t get it right. On top of that our defensive desire and teamwork will be rancid so we will lose.
If we win, we're still bottom......being cut adrift already. God, this is what it must feel like being a Sunderland fan.
And we haven’t even played a Big 6 member yet. 3 points adrift after a benign opening run is shocking. I am amazed Gracia is still in his post given the pathetic last 7 games.
This is very strange behaviour. I didn't have you down as a purveyor of relentless negativity before but you now seemed to have joined yourself at the hip with #@Nath and are currently giving this part of the forum blanket 'relentless negativity' coverage. So, extrapolating from another thread, I now contend that the younger you are the more negative you're likely to be unless you're a middle-aged lawyer, in which case you'll continue to be relentlessly negative ad infinitum. Or maybe you're just a bit p.ssed.
I’m Middle Aged I suppose. I think the last 7 results have made Gracia’s post untenable. He needs to go today in my view. The longer we persevere, the more likely we go down. Not sure why that is controversial. We have been diabolical for 7 games.
Now that was 'considered negativity'. The good sort! I agree with regard to the bad run. I agree that Javi's position should be under consideration. There's no opportunity now to change the tools he has available until half the season's gone so, does he have the character and inclination to turn things around with what he's currently got? Somehow I doubt it given his reluctance to make changes both tactically and in personnel unless they are forced upon him. Saturday's substitution policy was appalling. Is it time for him to go now though? No, not yet.
I respect your opinion. I think he should go now though. If he turns it around I’m happy to be proved wrong.
Newcastle winning at Spurs was the best thing that could have happened for us. They’ll be on the up, full of confidence and their crowd will roar them onto the front foot. IF we can hold on until the 70th minute when Gracia is allowed to make subs, their frustration will get the better of them, leaving Sarr and Welbeck to come on and exploit the room in behind and we run out 2-0 winners.
Before Decoure gets a rush of blood in our box, conceeds a penalty, then heads in an own goal. I'm joking of course. Well, I hope so anyway...
The strange thing is that up until the semi final, we were pretty decent. After that glorious Sunday, the trap door under us opened and we have completely fallen apart.
This is what i thought (clinging onto the justification for going !). Having gone last year-to both games -the league defeat, having had 60% possession and 16 shots with only 1 on target and then Okaka somehow missing an open goal in the last minute, has a familiar ring to it following Saturdays game.
At the risk of sounding slightly hyperbolic, I’d honestly say this is one of our biggest games since being back in the Premier League. If we lose, we could easily find ourselves cut adrift already. Sadly can’t see anything but a boring 1-0 Newcastle win following an error by Cathcart/Dawson/Holebas (delete as appropriate)
