Love this show, not least for Victoria Coren-Mitchell.

To pass the time till the next game, what connects:

Marie Curie’s Husband; Fawkes; Daryl Hannah in Splash; 16th President.

First correct answer sets next question.

GoBE, I'm with you on Victoria Coren-Mitchell and I also love the show - looking forward to the next series (especially the earlier rounds where I get more of the connections!)

As to your one, sorry, I'm am stumped :(

Not sure if I am looking at it the wrong way, but I am trying to see connections in Pierre, Guy, Madison and Abraham

Much less woolly than that! Last is correct. As is derivation of 1st and 3rd. Clue to number 2: O'Toole/Gambon.

    US State Capitals:

Pierre Curie = Pierre, capital of South Dakota
Fawkes (the Phoenix from Harry Potter) = Phoenix, capital of Arizona
    Madison = Capital of Wisconsin
Abraham Lincoln = Lincoln, capital of Nebraska

Never heard of Splash but once R55BKR used the word Madison I knew it must be state capitals.

I am not a Harry Potter fan either so had to google 'Fawkes' and then found out it was a Phoenix.

I knew spending my time learning all the US state capitals when I was supposed to be doing A-Level revision a few years ago would pay off at some point...

    1 and 3 are correct...

If you get 4 you'll probably get it. I could also make 2 easier, I've made that one a little tougher

    You're pretty much spot on!

It was current G7 leaders... Macron, Abe and Conte (maybe not for much longer though).

Rock was a trickier one as it was actually The Rock/Dwayne Johnson.

Thought it would be too easy if you had Johnson, Conte and Abe though so made it a bit tougher!

    (Shenzo) Abe Simpson
    (Boris) Dwayne The Rock Johnson
    (Guiseppe) Antonio Conte
    (Emanuel) Macron

(had no idea Macron was Italian)

    Your go Jumbo

I wasn’t really allowed to do science at school, what with fitting in German & only being able to do Economics on Fridays.

As per UC, science is pretty much the Periodic Table.

    Every show, there’s one, maybe 2 q’s.

    Overrated, imho.
