Correct - thought that would be the impossible one given he didn't play for us but didn't know of your link ! Not Devon White. 2 defenders and a GK. Also a GK & defender in the Brighton 11 !! Our worst ever GK ??
Willis has got Steve Cherry. Defenders - Ardley? Given that he's their current manager, maybe he played for them at some point. and David Barnes? Bit of a random guess, but let's keep the fun going. I really am terrible at these sorts of games.
nope. Did you see i edited my post ? "2 defenders and a GK. Also a GK & defender in the Brighton 11 !! Our worst ever GK ??" clues are available.......
defender 1 / key role in European tie ? defender 2 / sick note Brighton keeper - our worst ? Brighton Defender - Bassett buy ?
not him - we have the 2 keepers. Cherry and Perry (Digweed). Just the 2 NC defenders to get. defender 1 / key role in European goal ? defender 2 / sick note
The notts county sick note without cheating I can remember him but can't think of his name, rhymes with!
played in the GT promotion season to the prem but not often the other defender was instrumental in one of our euro goals at the vic
Yes both. Dean Yates and Charlie Palmer who set up the 2nd goal vs Kaiserlautern with the cross that became an own goal ("Meltzer" ??).
We are a bit like a two Ronnies sketch, all giving answers at the same time but not necessarily in the right order! But we got there!
I saw Yates in the Wembley car park before that Final, looking sorry for himself because he’d had a bad injury and was way out of the first team picture. I don’t think he ever played for us again.
Yates was one of those older players whose career took a nosedive when signing for us similar to Matt Jackson, and David Mirfin to name but two
TBF I think we only managed to pick up Yates as he'd had a bad run of injuries and was available as a result so he was always a risky signing. Mirfin was just a lump from Scunny ? Not sure he was injured - he just didn't/couldn't move....
Yup, Sol hasn't been paid in 4 months! Shouldn't have trouble finding a new job though, did wonders at Macclesfield.
I think they were a long way adrift when he joined TBF. Could do a job. If Pardew & Hughes say "no", he's the go to man.....after Allardyce.
Yeah, they had 10 points after 19 games when he took over. Finished on 44 points after 46 games, incredible job.
Particularly with the financial issues looming in the background too. I'd never really liked the guy, always seems a bit soft, moany and aloof but I liked that he had the balls to leave Spurs for Arsenal and to take on a job like Macclesfield given nothing else was on offer. Will be interesting to see if he gets a role higher up the league and how that then goes.
Many years ago I met Sol Campbell (at the Grove, where he was staying while his house was being renovated). My sons - very young at the time - approached him for an autograph and he couldn't have been more charming. So, in my book, he's a top bloke and I wish him well
