To be fair, betting on Watford to lose is like printing money these days.

**** ! I might even consider not starting with Issac Success up-front now, given they will have made extensive plans just to stop him.

I can’t really agree with this. What do you mean by the formation we play allows Doucoure and Capoue to run? Capoue never more than jogs around (not a criticism, just he’s not a player to sprint the length of the pitch). Whether we play 4-2-2-2 or 4-2-3-1 won’t change his or Doucoure’s role. In fact, if anything it allows them to protect the back 4 even more as they will have a CAM in front of them - and when defending that CAM can drop in to make a 3 man midfield.

I agree there’s no way we should play 4-3-3 with three out-and-our strikers but I don’t think anyone is suggesting that.

We can all recognise that as soon as he’s ready, Sarr will come into the team. Playing 4-2-2-2 just seems ridiculous to me as that’s not his natural game and we will pave putting yet another square peg in a round hole. He’s a winger. So is Pereyra. So let’s play them on the wings.

The general belief is that we should be aiming for mid table - plenty of teams in the mix for those positions play atttacking formations, why shouldn’t we? I agree our defence is awful but I think by setting the team up to protect the defence is just asking for trouble and doesn’t play into many of our players natural style. By all means be pragmatic against the big-boys but against all the others, we should be taking the game to them and playing a style to highlight our strengths, not one designed to cover for the weaknesses.

Maybe Gino stuck a million quid on a Brighton 3-0 win and took the hit of the defeat to generate the money for Sarr and Dangerous Dawson.

No I think he already funded that by putting £1m on a joint record 0-6 Wembley defeat.

"Dangerous Brian" would have been less comical at the back last weekend.

Larry The Loafer probably would have been too.

After Dawson’s performance, it looks like he’s wasted that million as it appears as though he’s worth about a fiver.

True story, last night I dreamt that Michael Dawson and Craig Dawson were our centre half pairing. I wonder if I'm clinically depressed?

How very strange. I live in my mum's box and haven't discovered girls yet.

Whatever gets you through the night boys...

When I first moved into a flat in Kirkdale (betwixt Everton & Anfield) in the eighties I suggested to my two new flatmates that we get a takeaway from the local Chinese. We walked over the bomb-site (on the Netherfield Rd) to the lone building - the Chinese chippy. We ordered our three mains and were told we had to order each one of them with either chips or rice. We ordered egg-fried rice and took them home - opened them up to find that each dish was half-filled with some of the oddest looking chips we had ever seen* and three completely unfamiliar looking meals. TBF the chips were gorgeous.

*Today I suppose the would be described as "...artisan hand-cut twice fried skin-on wedges..." but in 1988 THEY WEREN'T PROPER CHIPS.

I'm not sure 'box room' will be fully understood down here.

'My mum's loft conversation' would work better.

Anybody remember Toffos? Can one still buy them? Far superior to Rolos in terms of oral duration.

    PM to Mods.

Could you spark up the GPS & check the co ordinates for Moise/Moist Toffee?

Do they match with Moog's mum's?

    In/near the box room?

A "lengthy" oral duration is always better than a "short" one.

They have their own special sense of humour as was explained to me by my ex-scouse mother in law. Shortly before her car was stolen from outside the front of her house. I think she concluded it was from someone from the south on a day trip.

I couldn't de-scouse her so I had to divorce her daughter. It was the only option left to me. But I see what you mean, scouse ex-mother-in-law rather than ex-scouse-mother-in-law....

I always thought that Doug and Dinsdale Piranha were wrongly located. Surely "born on probation" and "they were a cheery lot, in and out of each other's houses with each other's property all day long" must have referred to the residents of a couple of back-to-back streets, with outside toilets, in a large, north-west seaport.
