**** I’d forgotten about that. Our medical team plus Wellbeck that sounds more than toxic. They’d go into a room together and the Doctors and physios and Wellbeck would all be coming out on stretchers
I’d say it’s decent and not worth moaning about. I’d stop short of ‘really successful’ though. Saying we’ve done well to hang on to players indicates there’s been a busy market for them all - low-ball Doucoure offers aside, I don’t think that’s been the case as it’s not been heavily reported. I really successful window would see another winger (as well as Sarr) and a real upgrade at CB come in. Dawson is a solid signing but it’s more of the same. It still feels a bit to me like we are ‘treading water’ with defenders rather than seriously improving it.
If he were on some kind of package built around appearances and goals bonus he could be worth a punt Played wide a lot so guessing this is instead of Sarr?
hundred grand a week for a raspberry ripple with a **** haircut. The pozzos have pulled off yet another masterstroke.
I think we’d have to have him put down before Xmas arrives. Might be a good deal if we insure him for a decent sum.
I don't know why but Welbeck at Palace has a certain ring to it. It's the kind of place I could imagine him turning up.
The Wobby has ceased to be a credible source on anything Watford related. Just regurgitating rumours and covering it with 'reportedly'. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...ks-sign-former-arsenal-striker-danny-welbeck/
I really don’t think it’s one or the other. Bearing in mind Sarr plays predominantly on the right and Welbeck up front or on the left... One thought I’ve had is that Welbeck is far better in the air than any of the strikers we have. And Sarr puts in a lot more crosses than either Pereyra and Hughes. He’s also capable of playing up front on his own which none of our others are...
If we got him do you think he’d be competition for Deeney? Or used more in the Pereyra / Hughes role?
Talks now being reported on Sky. God, this transfer window has been spectacularly dull. The next 36 hours better make up for it. After so many years of so many rumours, to have only signed some youngsters and Dawson at this stage having been linked endlessly with players all summer... ... I don’t care if it’s Welbeck or Sarr, I just want to see the ‘Welcome to Watford’ headline for someone that may actually stand a chance of being a regular.
Don’t have to sign Welbeck by Thursday as he’s a free-agent. So the bet would be we ignore other targets in favour of Welbeck, the window closes...and he goes elsewhere.
there may be some substance to this story. They are talking to him about a 'performance related' wage structure. Which would make sense considering his injury history. whether he will like the idea is another matter.
I’m just going to say it. I think he’d be a decent signing for us. If he’s able to stay relatively fit, we’d finally have the option to play one up front when required.
He's apparently agreed personal terms and is going to sign for us!! Not joking. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/17821520.danny-welbeck-reportedly-agreed-terms-join-watford/
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. I said the same about me creating the Alcacer thread last season - it promptly collapsed within minutes.
He's kissing goodbye to his England career then. Southgate will never select him again the moment he pulls on a yellow shirt.
He won't join us, because Palace and Allmouth are interested and we can never sign a player if another club are involved. I know that to be true, because the experts on here said so.
How quickly will we go from 'too injury prone' and 'no thanks' to 'great signing' 'fantastic piece of business' ?
