Not sure but he covers a lot of ground. I believe we have been linked in the press....a tumbleweed connection ? (Levon - where are you).
Feel positive all of sudden. Going for a Gino surprise transfer window special, plus Sarr, Pavon and Kim Min Jae. All this negativity will cease to exist and we qualify for Europe.
Bournemouth supposedly in talks over Harry Wilson from Liverpool for £25m. Clubs are certainly starting to do business. Hopefully we join them soon!
Got a few trialists:- Whelan - dm/m ex-Man Utd Kirunda - cd ex-Charlton Hinds - am/f ex-Wolfsburg Makanhuola - m ex-Leicester Linton - f ex-Crewe Hanagan, Bourreau, Marakovic unknown.
Some great names on the W & F team, not least the coach, Franco Piazza, which is clearly a pseudonym.
Man Utd have spent all summer negotiating for Harry Maguire only to be repeatedly told the asking price is £80m. Today they have agreed to pay £80m. Why not just bid that weeks ago and have him for pre-season?
I might add to this that £80m for Maguire is effing extortionate. If he hadn’t had a decent World Cup a year ago, clubs would barely pay half of that for him. He’s a bit older but I cannot fathom buying Maguire for £80m when Alderwiereld was available for £25m up until last week. Okay, he’s better. But is Maguire really 16 times the player Dawson is? Crazy.
I am the only one that thinks Transfer Fees and players wages are getting way over the top? It's time football got more realistic about it's finances before the whole thing implodes IMO.
I also think the fee for Maguire is nuts. I guess the van Dijk fee was used as the benchmark, even though Maguire is simply not as capable a defender as him (he more catches the eye because he looks decent with the ball). However, I don't think Alderweireld would have been a worthwhile purchase for them either - he's 30 and would be demanding a decent length contract on a high wage, while not actually being an upgrade on what they already have; Vertonghen was the CB more holding Spurs' defence together last season. They'd have ended up lumbered with him like we are with Prodl.
Whoops! I transposed the first two words, it should have read "AM I" not "I AM" whata a mistaka to maka
We've signed Welbeck, Dawson, the highly rated Dele-Bashiru, plus a busload of young potentials……….all for just £5.5m. We've retained Deulofeu, Doucoure and Peryra…….. That's outstanding already. Anyone who thinks we've had a bad transfer window, just doesn't understand who Watford are and the current market. We're not even done there...…….there's still a strong possibility we'll be getting Sarr and maybe others. I can't see how anyone can complain now.
I think the addition of Welbeck makes it a decent window (assuming we don’t sell). Sarr would make it a great one. (Although another CB instead would do the trick instead).
Is the loan window still open? Edit: I realised I'm one of those bloody people that annoy me that could just Google it themselves so I did. Next Thursday!
Thought this was worth a bump - I said that I suspected that Wilmot might not even be ready yet to play regularly at a mid-table Championship club, so what do we do? Send him on loan to a pretty good Championship club, where, surprise surprise, he hardly gets any minutes.
Swansea presumably wanted him though and must have made some sort of pitch to the club to explain where they saw his opportunities coming this season. Your post is probably more a lesson for the fans than the club.
Apparently we ARE going to upgrade the defence in January. A major overhaul is planned and the Pozzo's will throw every resource they have at it. I'll believe it when I see it, but AL has said this will happen in The Athletic today. Of course I hope it's true, but it begs the question, why did they have to live through the pain of this season in order to act, when it was obvious to everyone we would struggle defensively?
