Did anyone hear KA on BBC three counties on Monday night talking about the trip to Austria? When he was asked about new signings, he said we are working hard to get the right players in, he thinks there would be at least two, maybe three more signings before the start of the season. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p07ffv62 - 19:30 minutes in As he works at the training ground, i'm sure that he has his ear to the ground
But that will apply to every club anywhere in the UK (and abroad), surely (except possibly Newcastle).
Based on the rest of what he said in the interview I don't think he was including him: Firstly, he added that the 2/3 signings he anticipated would "probably in the right areas that fans hope they would sign". Secondly, he later said that there's "real competition in [central midfield] so I can bet your bottom dollar there won't be a high profile central midfield signing that's for sure". Therefore, considering he appeared to dismiss central midfield as being one of the "right areas" he would have thought fans would want us to strengthen, I think they'd be in other positions. It was actually very interesting that he really emphasised in his speech that there wouldn't be any "high profile" central midfield signings, which suggests that he already had an idea that we were close to signing a prospect and probably had already heard about the City lad signing. He also said that he wouldn't be surprised if Wilmot went on loan, and indeed he soon did. Appears a reliable sauce. Another interesting thing he added, when being asked about Sarr, was that the Pozzos have generally favoured paying around the £10mil-£15mil mark with one eye on making a profit on the potential resale value, however, he said they recognised that they'll likely have to pay more to get that next level up of player. Anyway, fingers crossed (especially if those 3 "right areas" are indeed CB, RW and ST).
Affleck is a grade A bell end. He writes like a grade 6 kid doing their “ What I did on my summer holiday “ assignment . If he is in Gino s inner circle , I’d be surprised and very embarrassed.
I'd be surprised as well, but he probably spent half the Austria trip with his ear pressed to Giraldi's office door.
Let's consider. Thinks he knows it all, claims to have inside information, supports multiple clubs, supposedly knows the ins and outs of every player ever linked, flounces off the forum when everyone laughed at him only to return to even louder levels of laughter. It's pretty bloody obvious who he is.
It turns out that Affleck was correct with regards to our intended transfer activity, as were my assumptions based on Affleck's comments about which positions the three intended signings would be in: CB, RW, ST. Just a shame we couldn't stretch to a 4th as well in the end (LB).
