Wouldn’t it have been more effective to have travelled around France with a French speaker who didn’t listen to the BBC?

We should win. Heavy jollies in conditions that should suit. Now or never.

Probably, had we known one. Didn’t pop up around every corner in the Cornwall of the early 80s.

Rained overnight it seems - will there be a delay?

Would be typically British on finals day.

Elle a visitée Paignton? Miles away.

Several of my school chums had only ever crossed the Tamar to visit the sleazy metropolis of Plymouth.

Bowling first - hopefully get the same sort of start as we did against the Aussies.

England are getting wickets at vital moments not allowing NZ any momentum.

I was thinking how boring to win easily. This is a game of cricket.

Long way to go and I wouldnt say we are choking just an underrated NZ making us struggle.

The commentary is awful. TMS is so much better, but i cant get the picture and bbc radio to sync.

Should just keep playing super overs until someone wins. Bit silly to cut it off when the scores are tied like that.

Anyone who says cricket is boring after that should never be permitted to watch sport again.

    NZ were very, very unlucky.

NZ should not have gone for the run out with 2 balls and 7 runs left.

Pretty harsh. Easy to say if you’re not actually in the cauldron of playing in a World Cup Final. But even so, if the throw had gone a foot either side, NZ would surely have won.

They would have won, incredible game. Sometimes when someone pulls out a brilliant diving stop or takes a catch you wonder if you were to win the game by a run whether that was the difference. There were a couple of Stokes fielding moments that saved runs, a couple of brilliant catches from New Zealand, the catch that was a 6 and the 4 overthrows. That was the difference. NZ deserved to be in the final above India and Australia and can consider the Cricket Gods against them today.

    It was an incredible game.

Tbf, a shared trophy would have been the right result.

(This is only partially because I have a slight man-crush on Kane Williamson).

Have to admit that cricket is not usually a sport I get particularly excited about. And we're in Greece at the moment; 2 hours ahead and sitting down to dinner outside in lovely balmy conditions. And yet.....about 20 Brits (including Mr HH) all abandoned their tables to crowd around the one person who had a laptop streaming the match. Was impossible not to get caught up in the moment - even the mini HHs were asking what a "super over" was. V exciting and delighted we won - but have to feel for New Zealand.

Who would have thought 20 years ago that 9 hours of cricket would have been 1000 times more exciting than 90 minutes of F1 motor racing?!

Great for cricket. Embarrassing for F1.

What a fantastic game. So interesting and tactical throughout.

Second best ending to a sporting event this year after our Wembley Semi.

    Outstanding!
