    I wrote in jest.

A Watford fan with a distaste for foreigners, especially the loaned variety, would have been conflicted in recent times.

It was that long ago they played in Europe. A lot more recent than us.

Blimey - they have done this before but didn't expect Liverpool to come back against Barca like this !

Without 3 of their best players if you include Robertson going off at half time .

Can they hold on .. ?

    Wow. Just wow.

Whatever you think of Liverpool, that is an amazing result. Brilliant corner from TAA.

    Wow.

I've always thought that quick corners were worth a go, the keeper usually goes into the net for his water bottle and the defenders take a breather.

Even better now, lose the title to City then lose the CL Final to Spuds.

    Well.
All the mental frailties that hb1 has attributed to Watford in the last few weeks pale into insignificance in comparison to that arrogant and inept display from Barcelona.
Liverpool were allowed to run riot.
Didn't Barcelona blow a substantial lead to Roma last season?
Messi not fit to lace George Best's drinks, never mind Pele and Maradona.
Spineless and with no game plan, they got what they deserved.

It looked like Messi gave up once he realised he was playing for Scunthorpe tonight. For that surely wasn’t Barcelona in the second half, was it? (No disrespect to Scunthorpe, by the way.)

That result would never have happened to a Ronaldo team. Messi is a coward.

I hate Liverpool but this result was just fantastic. Thrashed by their reserves.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Was Messi actually playing? He really is the most overrated footballer of all time.

An utterly hilarious result, capped by the sheer comedy gold of the fourth goal.

Whatever your views of Liverpool, I don't see how, as a football fan, you could fail to be impressed by that as a spectacle and, in particular, the balls on TAA, at 20 yrs old, to take that corner, at that point in the game.

    I fear this is true.

LM a bit of a flat track bully. Great against Almeria Academicals but not a rousing leader. A second level, technical player.

Anyway, tonight is about the winners. Sensational, life affirming stuff. Some played like gods, others were iffy but they all played like their lives depended on it.

    That’s all a fan wants.

For young Trent to do what he did in that cauldron was wonderful.

    Best like.

I didn’t like the continuous jeering when Liverpool were out of possession.

Got to say fair play to Liverpool. I was at the semi final first leg and Liverpool played well. We just took our chances and they missed theirs. It wasn't a fair result, and we all knew it.

When I heard Salah and Firmino were out, I thought we'd probably lose, but would still go through comfortably. I thought we'd nick an away goal.

This was a sensational result, but we did the same thing, probably even better, against PSG a couple of years ago, to turn around a 4-0 defeat winning the second leg 6-1, with 3 goals coming in injury time. Now that turn around will never be beaten. But we screwed up a 4-1 first leg lead against Roma last season, so these massive turnarounds are not new to us.

It's football......it happens. The thing is, when you follow a super power, it doesn't hurt that much, as you know in a couple of years you'll probably win it again.

Good luck to Liverpool. It could be an all English final in both European competitions. The only doubt would be Spurs, but if Liverpool can do it, I'm sure Spurs are capable also.

    Maybe.

Are Barca living off their reputation, the past & the waning Messi?

How telling was Neymar’s move away?

    All eras end.

Messi destroyed Liverpool in the first leg. He's a wonderful player. We've relied on his brilliance for so long. When you have the best player to ever play football at your club it's easy to get a bit complacent. Neymar shouldn't have gone, but it was a lot of money and he wanted to go. A lot of fans don't rate Coutinho and he's not lived up to his reputation at Liverpool.

Still domestically we've dominated yet again, making RM look like chumps, yet again.

You can't win everything all the time. There are plenty of good clubs around. Man City I'd say are one of the best teams in Europe but couldn't get past Spurs.
