Considering the Success transfer was basically the Pozzos paying themselves, his fee was likely a bit of a red herring and 7mil would prob not represent a loss.
The Udinese kid? I'm not convinced. Not much history of players moving between the two clubs. Might be overwhelmed with the change in culture and unlikely to accept a place on the bench. Best left where he is I'd say.
He’ll now speak some Italian & is obviously fluent in English but I don’t believe he speaks Spanish. I don’t see how this can work out.
I hear on the grapevine that he’s making fantastic progress at Udi. He’s almost finished painting the main stand.
But my masterplan is to smash it with Millwall again next season so Watford will offer me a job, playing the long-game.
Fair enough, can you do it without Cooper though please? In all seriousness, from what I’ve seen of him this season and last, I honestly do think he could make the step up to Prem. Do you think he could, or is it too soon for him? He’s still young if I’m not mistaken, 23/24.
We don't play the long-game anymore m8. It's all the poofy continental tippy-tappy stuff. Better stay at Millwall.
I'd agree with his assessment as well really - I don't think he quite has the build to be a CB (at least in the Prem anyway).
Any ideas on potential upgrades at Striker? This is likely wishful thinking, but Maxi Gomez of would fit the bill of a boisterous all-round number 9, capable of leading the line and with a threat in the air. 12 goals in 30 games for a struggling Celta VIgo side, and only 22. Currently linked with West Ham, or as a backup to Kane at Spurs. Not completely impossible, but would likely be a record signing.
Only as long as they sign another 6"5 CB to take his place He is pretty young and I know Millwall fans (and the club as they gave him a new contract in December) really rate him. Despite working for them, I barely get a chance to watch the games, think I've only watched the Brighton + Everton games in full so don't actually know if he could make the step up, but he's an absolute beast in the air which is something we lack (although I guess not many PL teams play that direct anymore)
Javi rates him more as a kid hanging out in Udine ice cream bars trying to chat up the girls. Tbf, not the worst job for £20k a week. Personally, I’d prefer it to having to play football.
Wax on; wax off. Worked out for young Daniel in Karate Kid. And possibly Wilot could use the 'Crane' move on Jimenez if he tries the mask stunt again...
You could do us a favour and let them know about Prodl. He’s nearly 6”5, an international CB with Prem experience.
I did actually think about that and I'm sure he'd actually be a solid signing for a team like Millwall. Although based on his interviews I get the vibe he doesn't want to drop down leagues.
On the CB front what about Marcos Rojo as an option? Out of favour at Man Utd with them expected to have a big clearout in the summer, so would likely cost less than the £16mil Utd originally paid for him, on a wage in line with our current top earners, Spanish speaking, and exactly the kind of nutjob that would fit right in alongside Holebas, Capoue, Deeney et al. He could be our v2 Britos.
Agree with all of those. Would add a left back as well seeing as Holebas is getting on and Masina doesn’t look good enough to me.
Wonder whether this will factor into Cucho's thinking about his future. He has the same agent as Peñaranda, so might not want to risk coming over just to train and occasionally be an unused sub.
Oh look - a centre back. Reportedly interested in Gian Marco Ferrari of Sassuolo. http://www.insidefutbol.com/2019/05...nt-of-serie-a-centre-back-on-interest/419237/
Hmmm, Sevilla and Porto are also in for him. Not sure if that's just agent talk or not, but if it isn't, where would we stack up wrt them? Obviously they have the potential carrot of Champions League football (Sevilla's chances hanging by a thread atm), but would he get in their teams? Who would offer more in wages?
We're rivals with Everton and Wolves, were fooking mahussive we are, of course he's going to choose us
Camara is keen to join apparently...….probably means he's crap. https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/fo...s-javi-gracia-weighs-up-12m-bid-a4138346.html
