Normally I have a confident idea of how a game is going to go. I've gone for a Watford win, but that's heart ruling the head....I know it is.

We have to win, to have any realistic chance of finishing 7th, so that puts pressure on the team. I know they don't deal with that kind of thing too well.

Any result is possible in this one. Heart says we'll win, head says we'll lose......so put your money on a draw.

Nor do the crowd. Which I actually think is the common factor linking a lot of the games you mentioned earlier.

Last game of the season for me. I'm bringing along my lucky Kiwi rocker friend, who looks a bit like a young Michael Bolton. He's not sure what Football is, but has seen two Watford games this season, both victories. He likes the singing, cheering, booing, chips and wine.

Nervy 1-1, with my train getting delayed on the way home.

...it looks like it's going to be cold. Be warm, but dress to impress.

Fulham away on boxing day was colder than greenland away in 1915. My cup of tea was still frozen granules at the bottom of the cup.

The best thing about the cup run is the games come around quick and you get evening kick offs. This game feels like a week away when in fact it's tomorrow!

  6. Although Fulham on boxing Day was absolutely one of the coldest away days I think I've been to, Torquay at home sometime in the winter of 1997 in some cup or t'other was the coldest I've ever been. We were dancing up the empty rows just to keep warm, and huddling together in the concourse in the Vic road end (home end as it was then if I recall) around cups of tea and got chocolate. I may have had a beer though. I was young!

I remember that. I watched from the other corner as I stood next to the tea hut for warmth! If I remember correctly a guy called Dave, who still goes now, came walking over towards me wearing a policeman's helmet

We used to be really bad going into regular matches with a 1 goal lead, especially at home, in the final few minutes. The crowd get anxious because of what the team does. It's comes from what the players are doing, and the crowd pick up on that. It's not the other way around.

Take our two recent games. Wolves semi final and Southampton. It was very obvious who was going to score the next goal (if there was to be one) in the final few minutes. It's because both Southampton and Wolves decided to protect what they had. They became entrenched and it played into our hands. We no longer had to deal with a threat on the break. We could afford to overload and just attack them. It was no surprise to see Watford score late in these games. It's nothing to do with the crowd.

I get nervous when I see us pass it around the back when the opposition are pressing. It's because I know our players have a mistake in them and someone will f*** it up at some point. This has actually cost us goals against Palace in the cup, Arsenal and Southampton recently.

Again, it's more what the players do rather than the energy from the crowd. The crowd reacts to the team.

I have never met a wolves fan in real life, at least to my knowledge, but on the interwebs they seem an exceptionally insufferable kind of arrogant. Would be a bonus to beat them three times in a season and see the meltdown.

Our players tend to hide when under this kind if pressure, I hope they are properly motivated with no Deeney on the pitch to give them a kick when they start to get all timid.

Would be ironic to win this, lose the next two and finish 9th anyway.

I've always seen it as 50/50 - crowd and players dependent on each other. And I think unlike some clubs where the default setting of their home crowd tends to be loud/boisterous for long periods, we've never been in that bracket. I've no doubt it'll be very noisy around kick off tomorrow but 10 minutes in, if there's not much goalmouth action or Wolves lead, it'll be pretty quiet from the home stands. Then if we're not quite at the races the grumbles will start. Watford crowds don't deal with pressure games well either.

I think the crowd noise at the ground has improved this season. I believe closing in the corners has helped reverberate the singing. I've heard more than one commentator mention the atmosphere at Watford is intimidating and very good for the home side.

Maybe we were quiet in the past, but we're not the quietest by any means. Some of the biggest supported clubs in England have really poor atmospheres. Old Trafford, the biggest club stadium in the country, is just dreadful.

Look at the noise we made at Wembley. Everyone said it was the best atmosphere new Wembley has ever experienced.

It's easy to knock the crowd, but thanks to Roy Moore and the 1881 effort, it's a lot better than ever before.

When I was responsible for UK Sales, one of our biggest customers was in Wolves-land; and I can concur that apparently sentient human beings, even in senior management positions, became insufferable mahusively-entitled neanderthal's as soon as the topic of Wolves came up.
They seriously believed that Steve Bull should have earned 100 caps! And their views on GT, who got them the closest to getting into the top flight for ages, do not bear repeating.

We've got to smash these cocky c***s.

They think they are going to do us by 4 or 5. I even saw a 9-0 prediction.....

Some are saying a conservative 2-0 win, just to dampen expectations.

Even though we've beaten them twice already, they still think it's going to be an easy game for them. I really love beating teams with fans like this. They're worse than Leicester and Leeds in terms of smugness.

I guess a bit of arrogance is understandable for the wolfs given they are doing pretty well and WBA, Birmingham and AV are all stuck in the champ....

True but we know with that formation it will be Watford 0 after 65 mins only for our supersub to come on and score.
The weather is going to be awful with 40mph gails blowing and heavy rain showers. Expect a RP/GD no-show.

With remembering that if we don’t get 7th and these ****s or the Merseyside Snakes do , we can still **** them up by beating Citeh , qualifying For Europe instead of the 7th places team.

That Torquay game was 0-0 so extra time was needed. I only just survived the frostbite.

I think we'll get soundly beaten in this one 3-0, lose 4-0 at Chelsea, go down 2-1 at home to west ham then get trounced in the cup final 6-0.

Contrary to a few posts, I believe this years team is showing a lot more resilience than previous years and I see us setting up similar to the semi to nullify their midfield. I think we will play a very cagey game till 70 mins and if it is still 0-0 then we will push a little further. Only one goal in it either way.

Not sure I fancy two men wearing a **** mask chairing me off the pitch, sounds rather painful and unpleasant. Hopefully Nuno didn’t see me comment.
